We truly enjoyed the stay. The property had simple lines beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Our favorite part was no children. The beach was not the best but was due to the time of the year with the sea algae. Beds are very comfortable and you get a choice of what type and how many pillows you want. Also, you get to choose the aroma therapy for the room. They only have 4 restaurants, our favorite was the Italian but Al of the restaurants have amazing food.

This was my 2nd time visiting this resort and it never disappoints. I was given a personal concierge who made dinner reservations for the entirety of my stay, she sent daily schedules for activities and messaged me every morning and throughout the day to ensure my satisfaction.

Everything at unico was good, the only bad experience i had was at a restaurant at dinner time. I couldn’t go in because I had short sleeves. I understand bout the dress code but I wish the person in charge of getting my dinner set up would have let me know. Overall all was good great hotel.

We loved everything about the property! Especially our host, Janet, who arranged all of our incredible excursions for us, and even had a nice bath waiting when we got home. We felt like every meal was delicious. There were no shortage of options and we really felt like we were living in luxury. Also recommend the excursion with zip lining ATB rides in cave swimming. Also, the Mixology class was awesome! We can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I came for a kid free relaxing vacation and the Unico 2087 did not disappoint. We got a swim out room behind one of the main pools and it was a prime location. Not super private if that’s what you are looking for. But we loved the location. The pool waiter would come by and get us drinks and food. We especially love Daniel and Saul made the best drinks. We would enjoy the main pools in the morning and head to our room pool in the afternoon. We were close enough to the main pool we could still enjoy the music. One of my favorite parts of the day was the crafts the resort put on daily. We painted sunsets and did some bead work. It was lots of fun and gave us neat souvenirs. As for the food it was some of the best food we have ever had on vacation. We tried every restaurant but our two favorites were the Mexican restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. Overall if you are looking for an adults only relaxing vacation we great food this is the resort for you.

The staff, especially our concierge Eduardo was amazing. The food and drinks were also. The property was small and underwhelming for nighttime activities. They also did nothing to combat the obscene piles of seaweed that suffocated the beach and the nauseating smell was so overwhelming on parts of the resort that it literally made me vomit.

Drinks were so watered down. Staff was unwelcoming especially at the restaurants. Beach full of seaweed. It should definitely be a disclosure on the website because I love the beach. Don’t advertise something that we cannot use. We were harassed to sign up for time share/ loyalty program plus all the other promotions starting at the airport. The representatives were so pushy and would not stop calling our phones. Plz be prepared for that. Spa is overly priced and you won’t get the full amount of time. Bar that was supposed to close at 2 closed at midnight. We were kicked out of our swim up pool because it opens/closed at the same time the pool does. Like really? First time getting that so maybe that’s how they all do it , but if that’s the case, it is definitely not worth the extra 200+ dollars. It took housekeeping over three hours to bring us more towels that I had to go out and search for them myself. The air conditioner kept going out. Room service was unavailable and not as advertised . Please please please save your coins. This was by far one of my worst experiences on a resort and made my desire to travel to mexico disinclined. Terrible, terrible, terrible . from the staff to the amenities. From the food to the drinks, just an overall terrible experience please if I could give this place a negative infinity I would.

I have to explain my experience that I had Unicorn! It was my nieces wedding.I was to walk her up the isle.15 minutes before they were to pick me up in the golf cart the zipper in my dress gets stuck!!!!! I went done to see if any of the staff could help me. No one could get the zipper all the way up .Then a staff member asked me to come in the bathroom to see if she could help me. When she got the zipper up to the top of the dress the whole zipper broke but was still attached at the top! The staff member ask one of the girls to find her needle and thread and she sewed my dress all the way up !!! This women was amazing her name was Karen . She when well over the call of duty . I have never been any where that gave me that much concern or care . She is a model employee, she needs to be recognized for her kindness and effort that she put in to helping me .The wedding was on May 17 ,and Karen is my hero ! Thank you GAIL

We have been to several resorts in the Riviera Maya area and we were excited to try this one. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. PROS: the staff was very friendly/attentive, food was good, drinks were great. It’s a smaller resort so it never felt crowded, even though they were at full capacity. CONS: one of our guests had a family medical emergency and could not make the flight. I had put her name for our second room, even though I booked and paid for the trip under my name. Upon check-in, the hotel told us that we would have to pay for another room because that guest was not present. I had contacted the property through Expedia to tell them about this the night prior. I explained our situation and showed my payment receipt and continued to be told that we would have to pay for an additional room. Only after requesting to speak to the manager and showing him my receipt, and an excessive amount of explanation were they willing to let us check in. Additional negatives include: nonexistent beach (about 5 feet thick of seaweed - not the resort’s fault, but they make no attempt to cleaning it up like the other resorts do so the terrible smell walks up to the pool area), very poor Wi-Fi, black bottomed pools felt like stepping into a hot tub (not refreshing), hot bedrooms (thermostat didn’t seem to work well), staff pushing to take their property vacation club tour, tipping required to get room serviced with replenished towels.
