Highly recommended!

What a great property! The cabin was beautiful and extremely well stocked. The location is wonderful with many potential activities nearby. We spent our time hiking and really enjoyed the trails. Our hosts communicated often and were friendly and responsive to questions. Very highly recommended!

Accommodations were clean and well maintained. Hosts lived nearby and were awesome; provided great communication regarding the check-in and check-out procedures.......definitely will return in fall 2025 !

Perfection

Couldn’t be happier with my stay at the Happy Shack. Owners are consummate hosts. Check in/out was effortless but more than anything, the views of the Jemez mountains was majestic and happy-making. Will def be back for another stay.

Comfy and cute in a peaceful location

The cabin is wonderful, very comfortable, easy to live in, and there are thoughtful touches everywhere. It’s the perfect place to stay for access to Bandelier National Monument, the Valles Caldera, Jemez Springs and more!

Relaxing weekend getaway

The pictures do not do this cute cabin justice!! Everything is clean as a whistle, and the decor and vibe is unique and charming- you can tell they put a lot of thought and heart into this place :) The property is remote and there is no WiFi or cell service, but it’s what I was going for. Unplugging and not feeling that need to look at my phone every 5 minutes was freeing and relaxing! If you go into town, you can get WiFi at the cafe/bakery if you need to check in and feel connected. The back porch was my favorite place to be, even when it was storming (especially when it was storming ⛈️❤️). The fresh mountain air and little critters (especially the resident hummingbirds that fly pretty close to your head- watch out 🤪) were just what we needed. We did not see anything big like elk or bears on this trip, but hoping to in the future. The highlight of our trip besides the amazing cabin was the Valles Caldera and the hot springs. We will definitely be back if given the opportunity 😊

Beautiful views from a cozy private cabin

This was an amazing stay; we unplugged and rest; it is so beautiful there all we wanted to do stare at the beauty and enjoy nature. 5 star for sure.

A lovely place, a little isolated

The log cabin is beautifully appointed and renewed. The views are lovely. A short walk gets you to a direct view of the "tent rocks." The drive is steep and you should download the google maps before starting out. For the rest, a lovely place.

Amazing Cabin for R&R!

We rented this cute, cozy cabin for my husbands 42nd bday. It was very comfortable, warm and cozy. A great way to unplug and just enjoy nature. It had everything we needed, and was super clean! There was quite a bit of snow which made it more of an adventure, you definitely need AWD/4WD this time of year, the scenery was beautiful with all the snow. We also saw a Buck and numerous wild Turkey from the back patio. The owners were lovely and so very nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.

It was everything we wanted

A quiet, secluded, comfortable cabin with all we needed and wanted. Quite new, well kept, very clean. The kitchen was extraordinarily well provided. We met the fine hosts, but they're certainly not intrusive. (Note that a high-clearance vehicle is a good idea.)
