The property and facilities feel quite dated. The bathtub drain wouldn’t close properly, and the bathtub faucet was loose. The hotel also does not offer laundry facilities or laundry service, which was surprising to me. That said, everything else was great, especially the super friendly staff and the hot and freshly prepared breakfast.

Contacted the hotel to ask about early check in and was told I could check in anytime after 1pm. Showed up at 2pm and was told check wasn’t til 3… Told them about the conversation I had previous with their staff and they again said check in is at 3… Waited 35 minutes at the desk until they found me a room after telling me they were all dirty. Got a key, went up to 6th floor and it didn’t work… went back down to desk to get a new key, back up to 6th floor and still didn’t unlock the room… Went back down again and eventually they sent maintenance up to the room with me again with another key that didn’t work… I was let in the room by a master key from maintenance and then asked if I needed a key for myself… Overall a slow and horrible entry into the property and no way would I ever go here again. The maintenance worker eventually got the front desk to make a key that work and delivered it to my room and I’m grateful for that. Room was moderately clean. Bathroom should have been cleaner and I decided to skip the complimentary breakfast out of fear of cleanliness.

Pool heater was not working at the time of our stay earlier this month. I explained that we traveled specifically for the pool so my son could swim for his bday. I was advised to checkout a day early, then call back to speak to the manager regarding a refund for the 2nd night (that we did not stay) and perhaps a partial refund for the first night. I have left multiple messages and no one has even bothered to call me back. Terrible customer service and no way to get a response.

Everything was great, as on my past stay, clean rooms, comfy bed, good breakfast, the on-site restaurant is good, unfortunately starting the last week of December, they are adding a $100 deposit at check-in, which while it is refunded upon checkout, could take up to 10 days to post to one's account. It really is a pity, I have to travel to that area twice a month and if it were not for that excessive deposit, I would continue to choose this hotel for my stay.

In all of my hotels stays I've ever had - this has been maybe the worst. Thank goodness for Expedia customer service who helped out in this unfortunate situation and was able to leave and book elsewhere for rest of days. Problems w/ Best Western: 1. No hot water in shower or sink. Daughter had to take cold shower before school. 2. Bed mattress springs broken, half went down to box spring. Had to sleep on half the bed. 3. Construction happening in room right next door to me. 9am woke up to hammering on the wall and sound of sawing/cutting next door. Construction workers going in and out of rooms and into the elevator (Probably why there was no hot water in my room. Go figure!) 4. heater kept clicking loudly all night, couldn't sleep. 5. Pillows lacking compared to other hotels 6. Microwave had serious problems 7. Smoking smell wafting into hallway area outside the gym downstairs and into the elevators. 7. dirty carpets with weird looking stains. 8. 24/hr coffee bar did not have hot water for tea at nite. It says hot chocolate on the paper they give you, but none to be found. front desk guy tried and also couldn't get the hot water to work and he just left. 8. hotel allows pets. Found dog pee in the elevator after seeing several guests with dogs coming and going. 9. sketchy guests The Good: Breakfast A+. Good coffee, food.one of best in Waltham. Parking,wifi,front desk people worked w/ Expedia to fix the situation and let me leave. Sorry for review, but people need to know
