Comfort Inn Traverse City

Bottom line: Comfort Inn will never be a luxury experience. If you know that going in, you won't be disappointed. The rooms are fine and comfortable, not fancy in any way. There was a slight musty odor when we checked in that we couldn't seem to get rid of, despite opening windows and the staff's repeated cleanings. Our kids hung out in the pool a lot and loved it - despite the over-chlorinated smell. The front desk staff was friendly and obliging. The morning breakfast is free, although not great. Lots of stuff you expect from a free breakfast, waffles you can make yourself, weird eggs and sausage, cereals, bagels, juices etc. All fine. We loved Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, and Traverse City is close by. It's a great location.

The hotel was very easy to get to and the front desk staff, breakfast staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but the bathroom smelled like a nursing home and the toilet was plugged before we even used it. The air conditioner didn't run constantly even though we set the fan to run constantly on low for white noise while sleeping, but everybody still slept well since we were tired out from our daily activities. We didn't take advantage of the free shuttle service within a 5 mile radius of the hotel because driving in the city was very easy. Also, they had a 24-hour pool and hot tub that were at good temperatures. The breakfast selection was decent - at, or slightly above, standard offerings. Comfortable beds, mini fridge and microwave oven were nice to have too. Would definitely stay here again. The nightly rate and pros outweighed the cons (which all hotels have)!

When we checked in, the hotel staff were very nice. Our room was extremely clean, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Quick weekend stay to take the family to the Dunes. This hotel served it's purpose --- nice pool and spa that the kids loved. Good breakfast that satisfied everyone's morning cravings. Room was nice and always kept clean by staff. Sort of odd that the bathroom sink was not actually in the bathroom, but no big deal. Only complaint is that the counter/sink was so tall that kids could not reach sink and faucet.

very clean and comfortable. Everything was updated and functional. No problems!

Has more of a budget hotel feeling - old and and location is far from downtown. Though they do have a shuttle. Main issue - heavy doors that people slam all evening/morning long - gets incredibly annoying. Can't get any sleep.

Although pricey for a regular hotel room, it is Traverse City (FABULOUS) and it is peak tourist season (CROWDS), for moving our daughter into NMC - it was perfect!

I really enjoyed my stay. From the outside it is lacks curb appeal and the lobby is a little dark and dated, however, it was extremely well-managed. I travel a lot and have stayed at other Comfort Inns but this one is exceptional. I was very comfy and felt safe and sound.

great place to stay for a color tour and wine tasting. very clean and smoke free rooms. Highly recommended

i am very sensitive to second hand smoke, and it was a big relief to find such a nice place to stay where I did not have ANY smoke odors.

Great friendly staff, room was adequate size, clean and beds were comfortable. Would have preferred to have the sink area in the bathroom as it was in the room and when one person has to get up early to get ready for "work", you turn on the light and use the hair dryer in the same room another person may be sleeping.

The room was comfortable and clean. Good location and getting to downtown was easy enough and quick.

Great customer service -- front desk was consistently very helpful. Excellent "continental breakfast" -- scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits w/ sausage gravy, Belgian waffles, plus typical continental breakfast fare every day! 40 in. flat screen TVs plus 24 hour fitness center, pool and whirlpool were great add'l touches

it's fine if you don't need "luxury"
