The neighborhood is not impressive pulling up. It is actually tiny block houses, almost doll like. The house itself was not terrible overall, but it was definitely not clean or maintained well. I failed to notice this was “pet friendly” which is my fault. However, there was dog hair covering every surface of everything. I swept a huge pile of hair up when we got there. It’s advertised as being able to kayak there. Not being native to Florida lifestyle, that sounds fun, but there are actually HUGE gators in that lake. I looked it up and there were reported deaths and last year a 607 pound gator was removed from there. We saw several while staying there. So, don’t expect to be going in those kayaks, unless your not fond of your limbs or life. It reminds me of the “landlords special” where they duct tape things and paint over windows, light switches, that sort of thing. You are unable to open the windows, and the toilet paper holder was placed on the edge of a corner of the bathroom shower that when touched it immediately fell off the wall. We went down for our own wedding and had lots to do, I didn’t think it necessary to complain when overall it was fine for the price I suppose so I just left the situation alone. We returned from our trip to get a message that we “ripped the toilet paper holder off the wall” and they were charging us $65 dollars to fix this. Anyone else that has stayed there will agree this is just not a true statement. We are not barbarians.
