La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Shawnee

It is getting run down and needs some work done. There was damage on the walls in the bathroom. The bathtub had stains in it. Base boards in hall way were pulling away from wall and looked like they had just been caulked to try to cover the problem.

Upon loading my luggage onto the luggage cart I noticed it was broken & very hard to push. Then me & my daughter went to the indoor swimming pool to swim but there was no clean/dry towels just an overflowing basket of dirty wet towels I go ask the front desk clerk for 2 clean dry towels he replied “yea we are all out there are no more” clearly there were plenty of towels they just needed washed, dried & folded. Lazy lazy

Our check in person (Kyle) wasnt friendly at all but the check out lady was very gracious.

The staff was very nice and kind. Excellent customer service. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

The room set up was nice for this week however the room smelled very musty and we had to get air freshener it kind of smelled like dog. The breakfast was pretty decent and the staff was really helpful.

It took us 1.5 hours to get checked in because Orbitz did not pay the hotel. We had paid Orbitz 2 months prior.

Towels are rough feeling and do not absorb water well. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very pleasantly surprised. Even though the hotel houses a significant number of oil field workers, they were like family and even took their boots off before they came into the lobby. It was a great atmosphere.

The hotel advertised a heated indoor pool & this is the main reason we chose this hotel for my daughter's birthday sleep over with her friends. When we got to the hotel around 4:15pm to check in our room was not ready even though check in time was 3:00pm the staff gave me the story that they were completely booked up the night before & all the rooms were not clean. Did not offer any compensation for our room not being ready like most hotels would. We were advised we could swim so I had to change all 4 of the children I had with me in the hotel public bathroom into their swim suits then we proceed to the swimming area where the kids jumped into the pool (the freezing 60 degrees pool) this was the coldest indoor pool i had ever felt I quickly go to the front desk to ask if the pool was in fact heated like advertised & they told me "well not like a hot tub heated but yes it is heated" I said well i didn't expect it to be like a hot tub but most indoor heated pools are at least 75-80 degrees & this pool was not even 65. They said they would turn it up 5 degrees. So I got my kids out that their teeth were chattering when they finally told us our room was ready we came back to swim about 2 hours later & it was a little warmed but then I discovered that 2 other families staying in the hotel had went to the front desk to complain about the pool being so cold. So I guess as long as multiple people complain they will finally turn the heater on.

The hotel was ok they allowed pets big plus. To many loud construction workers drinking partying late at night with no regard for other guest. The beds were bad and uncomfortable.

We checked in late (or early) in the middle of the night after driving for 10 hours. The check-in was quick. Got up to our room and even before entering you could smell the stench of lingering cigarette smoke. Inside was even worse. Normally I don't really complain too much about rooms, but since I had my 4 year old child with me, I didn't want her sleeping in the stench all night. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available, but they offered cranberry febreeze to mask the odor...which of course didn't work. The cranberry smell was almost as offending as the smoke smell, mixed together it was terrible. Maybe they should invest in a different scent. They did offer to move us the next day as soon as a room opened up. The breakfast in the morning was standard hotel fare. After breakfast the next morning they called around 9 and said they that another room would be available, but we had to move our stuff between 10-12. We were going to be out for the day, having an event that started at 10 and would last until after dinner, so we were unable to move. When we got back, we attempted to go swimming, and although the pool was warm, the bottom was dirty looking and the pool room was freezing. We went back to the room(still could smell it before you even opened the door) and started getting ready for bed. While brushing our teeth cigarette butts began coming up from the sink.

The staff was very nice from the start and the hotel was pet friendly and the hotel was clean we did not try the breakfast as we ate out with family every day

All was good with the following exceptions. Alarm clock and coffee maker did not work.

Good location to everything that is Shawnee. Clean hotel and pleasant staff. Our room was ready when we arrived and we had no issues at all. Parking was easy this hotel is easy on/off the freeway with very little freeway noise.

I stayed 3 nights during the week for a funeral and it was actually quite pricy for a weeknight stay. The hot water in the bath tub is almost non existant. When I got the ironing board out to iron it fell apart. Your housekeeping staff was so helpful and friendly especially Rebecca. The front office gentleman was nice too and very quick when my toilet clogged up.

Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Location was great for us. Very comfortable and quiet.
