We particularly enjoyed our stay at B Historic because the location was downtown, easy to get to and had public parking directly across the street. The hotel was priced fair, nicely decorated, staff helpful and positive. We were offered a New Year Special that was very appealing.
A nice quiet place. It is convenient to downtown. Clean rooms and staff is polite. The Restaurant just opened a couple weeks ago, they do not provide room service yet. The pool was supposed to be heated, we went to enjoy it and it was colder than room temp.
B Historic delivered on price and accommodations. We will be back!!! Staff are wonderful and the dining experience was so different than your traditional hotel restaurant. Very special and farm to table. Way to "b" !!!!
Firstly, I will point out that during my stay, the hotel was going through some renovation, mostly in the lobby area and the elevator. I knew that going in and so the make shift reception area was not really a problem for me. The check in process was quick, simple and professional. The staff were available to answer questions regarding sights and directions. Location: Very good. Just opposite to the Liberty street parking garage, where you can also park your car for only $8 per day. This parking lot is open unit 1 AM. The parking pass needs to be purchased from the Bryant street parking garage upon arrival. B Historic and many other hotels will offer you parking privileges in such garages at higher cost. From the hotel, we were able to walk to most of our desired sights in the historic district. For example, we walked back from the Savannah theater one night around 10 minutes. safety was never a concern. Not a lot of hotel adjacent dining options, but a 12-15 minute walk will get you to several good options. Or drive 5-6 minutes to Bryant street parking garage and you have access to all the restaurants on Broughton street and river street. The same parking pass allows you free access in all 5-6 parking garages in the historic district. Room: Our room looked like how they appear on he photos. Modern in style, had all the standard amenities and a very comfortable bed. We did not have any problem sleeping. I had read a few reviews about construction noises. But we were out sightseeing most of the day, so we did not hear anything that would bother us. Room was cleaned and toiletries were refilled daily. Wifi worked well inside the room. Breakfast and other amenities: We did not dine at the hotel at all. So I am unable to comment on their breakfast offering. Overall value: I booked this hotel through hotwire and for what I had paid, I considered it to be a great value. And at a similar price point, I will stay here again. I have even recommended the hotel to a co-worker. The hotel is barely away from the main touristy things in Savannah but still within walking distance to almost everything.
Overall, this hotel was fine. It was comfortable and a good value for the money, however, there were some things that could be improved. The lobby is really beautifully designed and makes a great first impression, but then you enter the elevators and the floors (in both!) are severely cracked. Our bed was super comfortable and the room was really nice and quiet. The doors on our closet were broken though. Also, we couldn't smell it from our room, but the hallway reeked of gas almost everyday we were there (we stayed for 4 nights). Maybe we were near a boiler room? Either way, not nice! All-in-all, a decent hotel in a great location. I don't know that we'd stay here again, but it filled our needs for this last trip.
I wasn't expecting much when I came to Savannah because I wasn't expecting to have time to really check out the city. We checked in late at night, and I booked the place based off of the pictures I saw on the site. The pictures do no justice to how beautiful the place is in person. Everything from check in to checkout was seamless and I'd definitely recommend this to my friends!
Very nice place, staff pleasant and helpful. I would recommend to others if asked. Likely to return and stay at B historic again. Concierge staff member Theresa was very helpful with bike rental info, bike route info and shuttle to airport.
Savannah was a wonderful getaway. B historic was a good deal for the price. The staff were very pleasant however the rooms need some updating. A/C was very noisy. The Savannah trolley tours were enlightening and entertaining. Angel was the best. Smiles dueling piano bar was a ton of fun as well.
Location is excellent - center of everything. You can walk anywhere. Staff was very friendly. Would recommend that rooms are cleaned better and that sheets are changed at least every other day. Supplies (coffee, sugar, stirrers, etc.) should be replenished every day.
The overall stay was great. The staff was sweet and courteous. The overall cleanliness was good but the hallway smells like it was unclean. There was several broken tiles and damages that should be fixed and cared for before I stayed again.
