the hotel was nicely decorated, good location. didn't care for the empty lot next door though. the parking situation needs to be resolved. We paid almost $400/night because of St Patrick's day, but I was extremely surprised to not have a bellboy and have to wait about 10 mins for valet parking to take our car, and to give it back. They should have more personnel to handle these things. The food in the restaurant was average and expensive. All in all, I was expecting better service for what we paid, but the room was comfortable. As soon as we were given our room, we went to the 3rd floor (in the very slow elevator) and found that there was already someone in our room. We had to go back for a 2nd room, and we were given one with a wall behind the window (not the view we were expecting), then finally the third room we were given was the charm. From checking in to getting to our room (third one!) it took a good 35 mins. This process shouldn't take so long, especially with children in tow and no bellboy service. I think there is lots of room for improvement.
My conclusion from staying here two nights is that the hotel has pretensions to be a 4-star or better facility. But the construction, the physical maintenance, the quality of the furnishing is all 2-star level. It's cheap stuff dressed up to look elegant. I suppose Savannah is an expensive place (by my standards), but my next visit will choose some other hotel in the historic district.
Newer place, got in on a promotion so was not too expensive. Food and Drinks Downstairs are all handmade in house, which was a nice treat. Room was comfy and staff was great.
The staff is great. Friendly but not phony. Also, the decor wasn't the over-the-top old South look that many other inns tend to go for.
Damion at the front desk made our stay here over the top. This guy must have never slept because he was always at the front desk greeting us with a smile.
Poor value, Just another overnight stay with nothing to set it apart except the premium price. Noisy fan in the room.
The hotel room air conditioning, a MUST in Savannah, did not work well. The phone did not work at all and there was no ice bucket in the room.
The hotel is located in the historic district. We easily walked to the squares and market areas with no problem. Pedicabs are available for a very reasonable price if you don't want to walk. The parking was $25 night but I am told that is common for that area. The staff was very friendly and the concierge service was very helpful in arranging tours.
Very happy I stayed here, it's location was very convenient, the staff where very friendly and helpful. ( Damien at the front desk was so nice and funny) I would stay again.
The entire staff was so warm, welcoming and helpful. The newness and lovely decor was very nice. The concierge gave us excellent recommendations for tours and restarants. We did drive to many of the sites but you could walk. There Is a parking ramp across the street from the hotel. Meters are from 8am to 5pm. If you park on the street overnite watch for the street cleaning signs. We got a ticket. We had a light breakfast in the restaurant. It was very good. I would definitely stay here again.
