The hotel was so beautiful, the staff were welcoming , and friendly. All the restaurants we had dinner at were good. Zen, and El toro were my favorite restaurants for dinner 100% recommend.

Pros There is a lot to do at this resort - our kids enjoyed the daytime and evening activities. Although there are a lot of people staying at the resort, the pools never felt over-crowded. I love that there were so many pools to choose from. Fortunately, we were walking distance to many of the pools. The trolleys they have a really helpful getting around the resort. The rooms are really nice. We had a 1 bedroom room and it was very spacious. We found out the hard way that they spray for misquitos, our kids were in the outdoor tub and suddenly a truck came by spraying a thick cloud of smoke so the kids had to rush out of the tub. Cons The food isn't the best. I'd rate the buffet 2/10. The food was very bland. We tried the Mexican restaurant, Hibachi and the Steakhouse. The Hibachi and Mexican restaurant were great. The Hibachi and Steakhouse both require reservations which we were able to easily make. The restaurants that don't require reservations there was usually 45 min to 1.5 hr wait. I'd really recommend they implement a reservation system for all restaurants. The pool temp was very cold in all the pools. We had a concierge that was not very helpful. He tried to sell us on the breakfast presentation within minutes of us checking in and after we told him we weren't interested, he was no where to be found for the rest of the trip. Overall, the service was not the best for a 5 star resort. Our kids had a fun time but I dont think it was worth what we spent.

Staff seemed overwhelmed. Needed to stay one more night due to travel/airline issues...was informed they'd do all possible to keep us in same room only to be told late the night before we had to leave.

The bad experience started even before we arrived. We asked several times about the arrangements for the wedding were attending. Did not get any response. Upon arrival it took more than 90 minutes to get checked in. The person didn’t seem to know what he was doing. The food was awful. We had a particularly bad experience at Inpanema. The servers wouldn’t even come to our table. They came twice over about an hour. When we complained they came by and gave us a big hunk of overcooked Picana. Very poor. The food at the before wedding event and at the wedding itself was not good. I felt bad for the people throwing the wedding party. It was an embarrassment to have people travel all the way to Punta Cana for this. We have traveled to many all inclusive resorts and this was the worst.
