The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Staff members David, Ernesto and Richard deserve special mention. The pools and beach area were very clean and the public bathrooms were spotless. I would highly recommend this resort.

The room is the best! The balcony and room were spacious and clean with a great view! The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Morning yoga on the covered deck next to the ocean was a treat! The hotel did not seem crowded and the pool was beautiful and always easy to get a chair. The only downside was one of the two elevators were not working most of the time. The beach was good and not the best..

My partner and I were in Puerto Vallarta over the Christmas holiday. Sunset Plaza Beach Resort amenities were impeccable. The entire property, room and public areas were spotless. The staff went out of their way to welcome us and meet every need we had. The resort location was perfect - less than a 10-minute cab ride from the center of town . Far enough away from all the congestion of the city . This was our first all-inclusive resort. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others, especially the LGBT community.

We so enjoyed our stay at Sunset Plaza! The staff was amazing. Especially Rafael (bartender:-)) and Katya (the activities director). The pool was large, good for kids and adults and quite warm. (There's also a separate adult pool and separate hottubs.) The food was very good. Rooms were surprisingly large--we had a suite with a full kitchen, 2 baths and the largest balcony I've ever had with a beautiful ocean view. Kids club was small but sweet. The location is an easy ride to town (by bus it takes 10 min.) and there are stores etc. right on the main street. The beach in this area is not as expansive as some other areas, and I would probably pass on big special occasion meals that aren't buffet-style, as the wait's a bit long. But other than those small things, we loved it. And thanks to Mr. Javier!

VIP hotel credit is totally a fishing bait -- did not give to clients voluntarily and had all limitations to prevent clients from using the coupon.

I picked Sunset Plaza Beach Resort and Spa based on both the smaller size of the facility and the excellent reviews. We were extremely happy with our choice. Everything was wonderful. The location, grounds and view are fantastic. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door and continued until we left. We felt welcomed throughout our stay. The food was great - no buffets, everything was made to order with the menu changing daily. The staff made excellent recommendations when ever we had questions. The room was spacious and clean. There were plenty of activities available to join in. We did the cooking and cocktail classes and I also did a kayak tour. All were included in the stay. I would recommend sunset Plaza to everyone. We will be back in the future.

The rooms are GREAT! They all face the ocean with a large balcony. The service is impeccable, everyone is genuine and willing to help. Relax by the pool with amazing servers - which come by every 20 minutes or so.

The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are very well maintained. You're treated like royalty!!

Great difference from Cancun and Cabo. Much more beautiful than Cabo landscape/sunset/beach and the 'old' part of town is better - nightlife not so much though. Resort is great for a 16/17 story property, but does not hold up against the bigger properties in Cancun, but once again the landscape/sunset/beach and the 'old' part of town is better in PV. They just don't have the space for sprawling properties. The room itself was perfect big suite with lots of room, 2 rooms made into 1 with half being sleep/bath and half kitchen, dining, and living space. The veranda/balcony was twice as wide also. The only warnings are the following two: 1. Bring bug spray and anti-itch 2. The 'butler' really hurt our experience, with no help at all, and actually some hindrances. Overall, we will definitely visit PV again, and may do Sunset Plaza again. It's location, spa, pools, view, beach, and 98 of it's employees were awesome.

When we first arrived staff and manager came outside to greeted us, exceptional customer service, staff was very helpful, kind and went out of their way to makes us feel comfortable, I would highly recomend this resort to my friends and family.

The hotel and grounds are immaculate! The staff's only job it to insure you have a fun and comfortable stay - you don't find that often. The food is yummy and a wide variety. This resort has the hardest working staff I have ever experienced at a resort. Thanks guys!

The hotel was really nice and the staff was great! Didn't realize it was off season. It was so hot and humid! Still enjoyed the time away but won't go to Mexico in October again. Next trip to Puerto Vallarta I want to stay in old town.

This place and its people were amazing. My luggage didn't make it and the manager took it upon himself to take a copy of my luggage claim and follow up with the airline. My luggage arrived before the wedding I came to puerto Vallarta for. The food, the staff, the amenities, the service and the rooms were exceptional. If you plan to visit Puerto Vallarta, I highly recommend you stay at the Sunset Plaza Beach Resort.

The staff was outstanding, all meals cooked to order, a terrific value. I would recommend to all.

This is a Beautiful Hotel with All Ocean Front Rooms. The minute you arrive you will feel very welcome the staff are the best and will make sure your stay is a memorable one.The food and drinks are wonderful. The days start out with a delicious breakfast the for lunch you have some choices there is the deli with wonderful desserts, salads and sandwiches also pool side dinning or the restaurant by the pool definitely many choices. Evenings we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and wonderful Mexican coffee, you defiantly will enjoy the show of the Mexican coffee don't worry Mexican coffee will not keep you awake at night. This is a beautifully decorated hotel with outstanding staff.

Highly recommend this hotel because of the staff! David the butler is a perfect example as is Ceaser Ivan by the pool! They really take pride in what they do and go above and beyond for the guests!! All of the staff knows the meaning of service..

Great rooms, great staff, good food, clean and friendly. Good location.

Parents Loved it. Great place great location and great people.

There was a few of wait staff that went above and beyond.

This is a decent all-inclusive option in PV. The room we got was huge and had a lovely view of the ocean. Quick cab ride into town. The adults only pool was very nice, but you had to reserve a lounger by 7am, which is always such a hassle on vacation. The hotel is very modern with lots of concrete. Not a lot of Mexico charm. The drinks were fabulous and strong. The food was consistently a disappointment, which is the main reason I would not return.
