Reset and Retreat

Everyone was in awe about this beautiful home! Just when we got really comfortable, it was time for us to leave. iTrip Vacations was also great with communications. Overall, this was a refreshing experience and hope to do it again next year!

Great Property to Share with Friends

Shared the house with a couple families. Overall the house was great and we would consider coming back. A few things to consider: 1) one of the Master BR's does not have a connected bathroom. 2) if you have more than 2 cars - you will need to park in another area 3) going to beach is a bit of a process. once you figure it out, its easy 4) neighborhood was nice and quiet and access to the Big Chill was great.

Excellent property!

We had a fantastic time!! Home was very spacious for 18 people. Elevator was used by me because of breathing issues, couldn’t have done without it! The Hub was awesome for the kids to ride bikes too and the adults enjoyed watching March Madness! Had to drive to the beaches but we knew that when we booked! Fun was had by all and it was a great family vacation which was much needed! ❤️😎☀️🕶️🐟🎣

Perfect for Multiple Families

The Minky Retreat is a really nice property! It’s the perfect house for multiple families! The elevator was helpful for those with bad knees to get upstairs. We really liked the large porch out the basement door and we used the outdoor dining table off the main floor. Mgmt was easy to work with on our golf cart issues.

Amazing family friendly home

We absolutely loved the house, and it was so wonderful working with the owners. Anything that we needed they immediately responded and having the elevator was so helpful for our elderly grandmother. It’s so close to the Hub and beach accesses. We loved the home, golf cart and hospitality!

Beautiful house, terrible beach access

The house was very nice, and check in was easy, golf cart worked well as did the bikes- however, beach access is awful. There is private access right behind the house but you aren’t allowed to use it which was incredibly frustrating. You have to load the cars up everyday, drive 2.5 miles to the access- there are only 7 parking spots for this beach access. The dishwasher was also broken during our stay - they called the day of check in to let us know- and provided some paper products however- there was no drain stopper to do dishes- we called twice for one and never received. The elevator broke twice during our stay as well as the garage door. So while the house was nice, the beach access was really disappointing!

Minky Retreat

First off I want to say that the house is spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed it. That’s all the compliments I can give. One question I have is- how the hell do you have a house with 6 bedrooms that only has vehicle parking for two vehicles. Addition parking was suggested to us, to park in a “PUBLIC” parking lot such as a grocery store etc. Then the very first evening while settling in, my mom and my 81 year old dad who has dementia got stuck in the elevator on the way up to their bedroom, for about an hour, til the fire department came and finally opened it, which triggered him into a state of mind that caused us to have to take them back to Georgia immediately after getting out of the elevator because my mom can’t drive at night. Then next day we were very disappointed to find out that the pool that is right next to us was “PRIVATE “ YEP—we were told we couldn’t enter this gate because it was “PRIVATE”, then come to find out that everything around us was PRIVATE, it seems like everyone we spoke to has a key fob to the gate but we have to use pools that wasn’t on the property and the ones suggested to us had very limited parking and one pool was even on the other side of 30A. And the beaches, that was a true nightmare. There is a walkway/cartway within 50 feet from our back porch that goes straight to the beach. Nope can’t use that either !!!!!! That’s “PRIVATE “. so we have to use “PUBLIC ACCESS BEACHES” That you have to drive to, and also there again limited parking. Dragging tents, chairs, ice chests and bags for a quarter mile. I’ve stayed in hotels, condos and even houses that didn’t have the restrictions that we dealt with this week. We felt like third class citizens that paid over $7000 for 5 days and nights for some R and R, I’ve never spent that amount of money and I never worked so hard on vacation. So R and R is not an option unless you plan to stay at the house.

too much

The property was amazing. The house could not have been nicer.....but it is really deceiving to be able to see the beach from the house and have to pack up 12 people (including 2 seniors) and go 2.5 miles for beach access. According to the signs on the gates owners can access the beach from "Providence" . For the money I feel we should have been given that access as well.

40th Birthday!

The Minky Retreat was great! The house is absolutely gorgeous and very well equipped with beach towels, beach chairs, wake boards, bikes, coolers, kitchenware, etc! We cooked several meals in the gourmet kitchen and had everything we needed. The elevator was so helpful with luggage and groceries. The only downside to our stay was the dishwasher was broken all week so we had to wash a lot of dishes. Maintenance was there right away, though, it just needed a new motor, which they couldn’t get right away. The beach access isn’t great. There is no walkable beach access at all. We had to load up our cars every day and drive several miles to beach access with parking. There is a golf cart on site. The welcome binder said we could rent it for $75 per day, but the owners said we weren’t allowed to use it, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at the Minky Retreat. Thanks for your hospitality!!
