Clean, good breakfast, nice spacious rooms with refrigerators and microwaves!

Very clean, 3 hot tubs and got to watch deer roam around property.

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had as a hotel guest... I was in town visiting some friends and had been hiking in San Juan that day. Showed up to the hotel and checked in, went into my room to let my friend use the restroom before heading back out. My friends dog was in my truck, in the bed, and never left the truck. Not even 60 seconds after getting to my room the hotel staff knocked on the door and began verbally assaulting us about there being a dog on the property... I informed them that my friend was using the restroom and that we would be leaving in less than 5 and that my friends dog would remain in the truck until we were gone... The staff member was irate, cursing and yelling, at which point I went to the office to request a refund and informed them that I would not be staying at their hotel. They denied the refund... I was in such disbelief at the entire situation I left without another word... I travel for work and live in a hotel more often than my own house, NEVER have I had such a terrible experience.....

The staff is what makes this place a 10. Warm and genuine, you definitely get the sense that they want you to have a good stay. Breakfast was great - they had warm entries to go with muffins, cinnamon rolls and cereal. Loved that they had a playground for the kiddos. We have Verizon and didn't have cell phone reception - something to be aware of but worked fine for us. Highly recommend.

Does anyone actually believe a hotel that ranks #1 in Customer Satisfaction would do this? Our business is driven by exceptional customer service! We regret that you feel you were treated unfairly, but we are not used to guests clearly going out of their way to disregard the safety of small children, other guests and creating scenes. You did not get a refund, because you booked a non-refundable reservation for 1 person with no dog in a hotel that does not accept pets. You checked-in and registered as 1 person, but 3 people and one dog show up on the property. You and your dog caused multiple complaints. You told us the dog was not yours, but belonged to your friend. We asked that the dog be put on a leash and be removed off the property. You refused and were very belligerent because we asked you to restrain the dog and remove the dog off the property. You chose to completely ignore our request and left the dog outside with no leash, while you and your friends went inside the room. To make matters worse, one of your friends comes into the lobby and threatens to give us bad reviews if we don’t make exceptions for you and your friends. Interesting considering she was not even a registered guest, but she clearly believed she was entitled to come in and start verbally assaulting the staff and harassing the guests in the lobby. We are saddened that you and your friends feel that lying, threatening people, and ignoring the safety of small children are acceptable behavior. The rest of our registered guests were very happy when you finally left and complimented us how professionally we handled the situation. Please see our other wonderful reviews that have made us the #1 property in Pagosa Springs for Customer Satisfaction and the best place to stay in Pagosa Springs.

When you have a great staff of team players who love working with people, it makes all the difference! On your next stay, even though we have little Verizon reception, you are always welcome to use our room phones-calls are free to our guests.
