Courtyard by Marriott Oakland Downtown

very good location two blocks from the BART station, and spacious room with two queen bed and a large bathroom

Excellent hotel in Downtown Oakland. The neighborhood is okay, maybe a bit scetchy at night. It is near Chinatown so there are good Asian restaurants nearby. Parking through the hotel is valet at $30 per day. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. My only complaint is that for us it was fairly expensive at over $200 per night plus the valet parking. We decided to stay here because there are not a lot of other hotels in this area and we wanted to be able to walk to the Fox Theatre for a concert so it worked out well.

Stayed here for a conference at the convention center across the street. Hotel staff was great. Valet parking is expensive, but the valets were very friendly. Breakfast in the restaurant was tasty but very slow 2 of the 3 mornings.

Walked to the Bart, grocery shopping and restaurants! Only complaint is that there were noisy people outside our hallway at all hours of the night :-/ Other than that, a comfortable and convenient stay!

My family and I stayed two nights last week. Excellent location: 2 blocks from BART to catch a Raiders game; across the street from a Smar* and Fina* store to buy last minute items before flight to Hawaii. Friendly staff.

Hotel was clean and very convenient. We were visiting friends in SFO and took the bart from the hotel to SFO. The bart is one block away, so it is *very* convenient. Ww will definitely stay there again in the future.

Very quiet room, swimming pool too small, it could be bigger.

When you pay for a brand name hotel and spend over a hundred dollars a night you expect a certain level of comfort and service, this hotel did not deliver either. Rents to rude guests who like to party and partake in illegal drug activity. Police had to be called in at 2 am in the morning because this property does not have adequate security on site. To bad because the location is excellent, but in no way is this place worth the hassle. Would not refund room when I complained the next day, only offered to refund parking.

Rooms were clean and comfy. Only problem I had was them not providing bath towels.

Clean but pricey. Right smack in the middle of downtown Oakland.

Great location, walking distance to everything and Bart. Clean, comfortable room and staff- especially the valet guys were so nice!

Nice clean and modern style room. Friendly staff, and convenient area.

I felt that the location was hidden and so completely secondary to the HUGE Marriott property just up a block. This place is right in china town and traffic is loud and busy. The hotel is currently being remodeled (April 2013) on the lower level. They had no tea either in the room or downstairs. Valet service is efficient and well run, but $20 per night extra. Starbucks up the street 1 block. Farmers market (excellent) on Friday morning. Oakland is losing the battle with crime and arrests have gone down and crime up and we saw homeless folks doing drugs right on the street. Booking through Orbiz does NOT give you Marriott rewards points. That was very disappointing.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was tidy and comfortable, and the location was perfect for my purposes (a convention being held across the street at the Marriott).

Nothing too special about this hotel, but it gets the job done. It was cool to be in the heart of Downtown Oakland as we got to eat in Chinatown and walk to a nearby record store. It's much better to be around people than in some suburb with 0 activity.

Very good value. I was very pleased with the speed and access of the free in-room WiFi.

Great experience nice people, got a free upgrade clean rooms will book again

The Courtyard Marriot is in a great location, on the edge of Old Oakland and China Town. It is right on the BART line, several bus lines and a free shuttle to Jack London Square. There is a Farmer's Market right across the street on Thursdays, and at Jack London Square on Sundays. Great source of picnic materials and the best citrus you'll ever taste. The staff at the hotel is friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows are great. The gym is just adequate at this time, but will be renovated and expanded in the near future. The pool is cute. The little courtyard garden is lovely and quite Zen-like: fits into the neighborhood (China Town). Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is excellent, and the service is phenomenal. I may not be able to publish the name of our GREAT waitress. But I hope that anyone who reads this review gets to meet her because she is the best ever: cheery, friendly, gregarious, helpful, and hard-working.

Excellent facilities close to downtown and Chinatown. Tons of restaurants all around. My only complaint is for that price there ought to at least be a fridge in the room.

the hotel is well located for anyone wishing to be out of central san fran - - good restaraurants in walking distance - - - close to trains & central oakland---good full breakfasts
