Ideal location to participate in the Film Festival or Francofolies ...
Sunny without vis-à-vis two minutes from the Old Port, two hundred meters from the beach and parks, next to the cultural center of La Coursive, charming studio on the first floor with fitted kitchen, bathroom, renovated new, large terrace, three windows with double glazing, exposed beams painted white, new parquet, kitchen area with oven, fridge, microwave, large wardrobe, dining area, television, stereo, double bed, plus inflatable single bed automatically in case of need, sunny terrace in the afternoon with table, chairs and deckchairs. There is no wifi, we use the smartphone as a hotspot for the internet (4G next to the small window, 3G inside the studio).
The studio is right in the center of the cultural and leisure activities of the old town, everything can be done on foot. Restaurants, tourist visits, parks, beaches and shops are nearby. The city of La Rochelle is very lively and lively. The place where the studio is located is quite quiet, except Friday and Saturday evenings due to the activity these two nights of a nightclub located in front of the studio, whose noise can be annoying and disturb sleep. We possibly protect ourselves by soft music or nature sounds - waves, rain - (cd on a shelf next to the stereo).
Paid parking on the nearby Saint Jean d'Acre square. To benefit from free parking, go to Chemin du Rempart, which runs alongside the nearby Charruyer park, and runs parallel to rue Réaumur. Do not hesitate to travel the length of it (from the seaside to Place de Verdun and beyond) because free parking spaces are in demand.
Bus place de Verdun for the Ile de Ré.
SNCF train station 10 minutes on foot.

Noisy stay!

The studio is on the 2nd floor of a very ancient house: stairs are narrow, steep and very dangerous if you have big suitcases ! The studio is lovely and comfy BUT situated right above a very noisy bar. Young people partied loudly under our windows until 3 am! If we closed our windows, it cut the noise somewhat but it was way too hot, as the heat was extreme. We did not get much sleep the 2 nights of our stay! We were told to get WiFi from nearby cafes and NONE accepted to give us WIFi. As we have American phones, we could not contact anybody as Messenger and What’sApp need wifi to operate. Very frustrating! Otherwise we loved our discovery of La Rochelle!

Christine & Jean-Noel were awesome hosts. They picked us up and dropped us off at the Gate, the property was very clean and comfortable with considerate little personal touches. Excellent central area for dining, shopping, ATM close by. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location

Fantastic studio apartment, central to everything in La Rochelle, 20 metres from bars and restuarants, 200 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the harbour. There was a night club below us but we were fully aware of this when we booked and it was only on a Saturday night. The roof terrace has the sun about 4pm in the afternoon which was lovely with a nice cold beer and a good book to chill out with. Lovely La Rochelle

Great location but we stayed during the week not on a weekend when the disco next door is open. We were there during record breaking heat so a fan would have been nice. Cute studio apartment, good shower. The owner was very good at staying in touch.

Big room with pretty basic facilities. Good sized terrace with morning and evening sun. Good shower, decent little kitchen. Bit of basic maintenance needed but clean and perfectly acceptable. We were in peak season over a weekend and not disturbed by noise. Where this studio scores is location, location location. It is 40 metres from the first of many restaurants and bars, 2 minutes from the heart of the port and 5 minutes from the beach. We loved our stay here.

Typical French style older house, rather basic furnishings but comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the verandah in the sun and reading my book. Accommodation very central and the disco on Friday evening didn't bother us at all. Super shower.

Agréablement surprise par la localisation de ce studio, dans ce studio il y a le nécessaire pour passer une bonne semaine ! Bien sûr nous sommes en plein centre et juste en haut d'une discothèque, aussi d'un bar, et aussi d'un point de livraison qui est assez bruyant... Sinon nous avons eu de la chance de trouver une place pour notre voiture directement au parking de l'esplanade des Parc, elle y a séjourné durant une semaine sans problème. En bref une semaine superbe , pratique, vivante 😅. Vive la Rochelle !

Bien mais une renovation aurait super

Le séjour était bien. L‘appartement a besoin d‘ une rénovation de la cuisine et de la salle de bain au moins. Il y a trop des choses dedans qui Sint inutile et salé. Mais l‘ endroit est bien, il a le flair d‘ une chambre studette. Peut-être on était trop vieux pour celà.

Très bon emplacement. Studio propre, mais le frigidaire sal et manque des éléments (cassés) sur la paroi de la porte. A voir… Cafetière expresso H.S. Manque peut être un sèche linge sur la terrasse, pour quand on revient de la plage. (un petit +) Il est vrais qu'il manque vraiment la wifi, si l'on reste plus d'une semaine, surtout de nos jour. Mais on le savait. L'escalier extérieur n'est pas conçu pour les personnes âgé ou a mobilité réduite.

Bon séjour

Pour notre premier séjour à La Rochelle nous ne pouvions trouver mieux que ce petit appart bien situé et bien exposé. Nous recommandons ! Petit bémol pour le bruit la nuit et les poils d’animaux qui sont restés incrustés sur les draps de la literie, linge de salle de bain et torchon malgré qu’ils étaient propres.
