Fishing and Visit Key West

Property was very good - Home is in the process of being sold. Guessing Housing market (I.e. High interest rates and economy) are so bad that this home was made available. Location was great for this visit.

Bug problem and someone snooping around

Stayed for a week, the house definitly has a termite problem. There wood they eat and then expell is all over the counter, inside the cabinets, and in the bedrooms. There were wings from the termites on the counter and covering the bottom drawer in the stove. Every plate, pan, glass, and cooking utensil has to be washed before use. I contacted the vacasa and was pretty much told to just deal with it. Tried contacting the local manager and was ignored. Also, i dont know who it was, maybe a neighbor or the owner, but someone would come by the house while we were away on muliple occasions. This was evident because the trash cans would be moved. At some point i belive they entered the home without me there, i again contacted the vacasa and got a run around answer that they didnt know anything. I checked with vacasa about bring my boat and they said that was fine. Everything was in fact fine, until friday at around 330 when i got a ticket from key colony beach for my boat trailer being to close to the edge of the road, conviently when no one was home. The neighbors cars are parked right at the edge of the road and in the park across the street. Of course key colony beach officials leave at 4 and we had to check out saturday so there was no way to talk to anyone. Pretty smart money racket they have going on there. Overall it was not a terrible stay, but the biggest problems are the bugs and whoever is snooping around while you are away. I will never return to KCB. Stay in Marathon

Nice bungalow with noise issues.

This bungalow was pleasant and clean but we did not enjoy the noise from the construction next door. We felt that we should have been pre-warned about this and given the option of making a decision about renting this property, knowing that the construction started early in the morning and could/would awaken and annoy us.

We got bed bugs from staying there, we now have to bug bomb 4 different houses whihch is going to cost of hundreds of dollars, the counters were dirty when we arrives, the grill cover was torn to shreds

Construction

There was construction next door every day except Sunday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. This was not in the listing so I really couldn’t enjoy the outdoor space at all during the day, and had to leave to get away from the noise. I checked out early due due to this and Vacasa is ignoring me. When I checked in the bedsheets were dirty with chocolate on every layer, so Christmas Eve day, I spent washing and drying all the bedding and they did give me a credit for my cleaning and that’s it. In addition, I reported termites, and that the unit needed a deep clean, and they needed to remove the black mold as my guest who came for Christmas left a day early due to allergies. For the same price, I could’ve rented somewhere else and had a more enjoyable experience in key colony.
