Geeking Out on Freightliners
The property was very basic and the highlight was the location. It was the best location in Duluth. We have stayed at several other homes nearby with many more amenities. The location of Duluth House trumped all the others! You can easily walk to shopping, restaurants, museums and the movie theater. Watching the boat traffic was fascinating. We went to a website that gave boat descriptions, times they would be going under the lift bridge and what they carried . Waving to the passengers on ships was something we all enjoyed.

This was our second time staying at this property and we really enjoyed it. My favorite part was the bedroom that overlooks the beach. Thanks for a great time.

Our Stay
This was the perfect location for visiting canal park and viewing the ships. We went to the last day of Bentleyville for the season and enjoyed the fireworks. Nice, peaceful retreat for a quick getaway.

Here for the ships
Location is excellent for viewing ships, walkable area with easy access to breweries, restaurants, the aquarium, and fudge and ice cream! Great views of the lake and sunrises.
Only improvements would be another frying pan and a couple more dining room chairs (even folding chairs would have worked for us). We were OK without a TV but could have stayed at the house to watch the game instead of going to a bar if there had been even a small tv at the house.

Fantastic Gem in Duluth
We loved our stay so much! The bridge was an ongoing source of entertainment and we loved being right on the lake. We walked to so many shops and restaurants. It was the perfect weekend! We will definitely be back to this treasure on Lake Superior. Thank you so much!

Great Location for visiting Duluth
We couldn't be happier with the location and the access to both the beach and bridge. We enjoyed watching boats come and go over and over - we couldn't get enough. Check in and out was easy, however there was no wiggle room on checking in earlier than 4pm or out after the 10am time. We did have an issue shortly after arriving and called. The individual we spoke with was pleasant and said he'd call back after reaching out to someone for more info. He did not call, he texted instead - I wasn't sitting by my phone so he nearly dispatched someone because I didn't see the text. The problem we had was resolved, and our stay was nice. While I know that people nowadays prefer text to talking, if someone says they'll call back, that's what one expects. Overall our experience here was nice and we'd recommend this place to others.

On the canal
We loved staying at the house on the canal. It’s right on the beach, right next to the boats when they’re coming in, and the road noise didn’t bother us at all.

Our stay
Super clean and comfortable. Great location.
Oh so fun to be able to see the ships come and go right out our window.
We also got to watch surfers on the water right outside our window.
Just a few things we think would be helpful on the property.
Would have loved to have hooks in the entryway for purses and coats and also hooks for towels in the bathroom.
There were 6 of us staying there but only 4 dining room chairs and we are game players. So we had to bring in chairs from outside to eat together too.
Otherwise a great stay 😁

Three night stay
We had looked forward to watching the freighters going through the canal and the lift
Bridge. We were not disappointed!! At least two freighters every day. Bed very comfortable. A bit noisy due to traffic over the bridge but we were aware of this from the information provided.

AMAZING
You can’t get a better place in Duluth! You are walking distance from everything in Canal Park. And how amazing that the beach is literally IN YOUR BACKYARD!!!! The sights are beautifully breathtaking. House is small but cozy. Even though we rented in the winter it was still awesome! We will for sure rent again only this time in the summer/fall season! You are so close to the canal that it looks like you could reach out and touch the ships that pass through!!!

Winter Stay
We stayed as a family for a short weekend and visited Bentleyville. We loved the location because we got to see 3 ships enter/depart from the canal and walk to lunch and dinner, which allowed us ease in enjoying our time in canal park without having to worry about parking!

Historic and heavenly
The listing is absolutely accurate. It is not the quietest rental. But the whirring of the lift bridge, the blasting of the ship horns, 1 long, 2 short for clear the channel, is so comforting. You feel part of Duluth’s shipping history while sitting in a house, on a long beach, just a short walk from the center of Canal Park with all it’s restaurants and attractions. We were there for there for the North Shore Marathon and my teammates insist we come back next year. It isn’t necessarily luxurious. But it is clean, comfortable and practical.
