Good, functional downtown hotel
I was kindly greeted by the employee working the cafe that evening who helped me with check-in. I then went up to the room, but had a hard time finding the master power switch to the lights. Once I found that switch, all was good in this nice hotel conveniently close to the Amtrak station & other forms of transit. WiFi is also very good here, as is the workstation. I have a story to file from my Chromebook. I just wish the incidental hold wasn't $100. That's about it as far as gripes.

The property, the room, the amenities, the staff, all great. But it's no secret that the area around the hotel is where a lot of vagrants and homeless people congregate. I felt safe as a single man staying there and walking around but if I had young children, I probably wouldn't stay here, even if the people were not rowdy or menacing. Just not a good look.

Great historic, boutique hotel!
This hotel is great! The location is walking distance to all the fun attractions in downtown Portland. It's a historic hotel that is still modern. The rooms are nice, the price is reasonable, the staff are friendly. I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

The property location was in ideal location for travelers via Amtrak Train only being a couple blocks away. The security into the hotel building was comforting especially at night. The one desk personnel were all friendly and efficient with check-in and check-out process. The twin bed room was very roomy and laid out well for two people. The room was spotless and freshly cleaned. The travel size amenities left for guest was convenient and useful.
