Just ok accommodation, poor service
It was ok. The cottage we rented was nice but overpriced for the amenities, very basic, heater system was so loud it came on every 10 mins hard to sleep. Our room wasn’t cleaned when we checked in at 3 pm had to come back 30 mins later The front desk was always closed and it was hard to get a hold of anyone for service. No one answers the phone , text message and email. It took me 6 or 7 try’s to get a hold of someone. It doesn’t feel like they care about their guest. I was very disappointed with the response time. Everything was done thru text message with a 4-6 hr response time.

double booked room
at 11pm on our first night we had 2 men unlock our room using the door code. they had double booked the room. we called to have the managers come change the electronic code because we felt unsafe. they told us they’ve NEVER changed the codes and never had a problem before. they told us they could come fix it the next day. at 6pm we were told the owner does not allow them to change the door codes. felt unsafe as we were 3 women with nothing to defend ourselves. also the beds were extremely uncomfortable and so squeaky. walls very thin as we could hear everything our neighbors talked about.

Great stay. We were in for my daughters hockey tournament and hotels in steamboat were pretty pricey. Only 25 minutes to the rink/ski area, easy drive no traffic. Rooms are small but super comfortable, really nice to park right in front of the door when you are dragging gear bags in and out. Oak Creek is a cool laid back spot, old school Colorado. Really impressed with the pizza restaurant and couple of good breakfast spots.

I thought I was booking the smaller nicer cabin style rental as that was what was shown in the photos. The room was in the older motel and it was old and run down. Easy entry and was fine for what we needed but was not what was shown in the advertisements. Could have been my oversight but also was disappointed with the quality and state of the room. Very old and dated smelled like cigarettes. Would not recommend or stay again due to high price and quality of room.

Budget friendly motel
This motel is located 25 min from the ski mountain. Rooms are very simple room so if you are looking for more stay in Steamboat. Beds are hard and have a waterproof cover so it makes noise when you move. It was all we needed since we were only there to sleep.
