Very convenient location, friendly helpful staff, clean, older building with reasonable modernizations, great if you like the charm of Old New York versus sterile modern big-name hotels. Good easy to adjust shower. Mini-fridge available on request, but no really good place to put it. It would be nice to have one built in, plus a small microwave oven and a real tea kettle -- not one of those horrible coffee pod machines.

Generally good value for money on the UWS. Rooms are fairly large for NYC, but it would have been nice to have a chair or couch to sit on for reading or watching TV; as it was there was only the bed and one fairly basic desk chair. Bathrooms are a bit dated and cramped. Our daughter’s room didn’t have a shower curtain, which was surprising, not to say inconvenient. Staff and location are excellent, but we had very noisy neighbors on our floor.
