Staff - Lobby staff were hospitable, accommodating and efficient. Housekeeping staff less so -- during our 3-night stay, we went without a hand towel in the bathroom for two of those nights. Additionally, and despite requesting one or two additional bottles of water, no extra water was left in the room. Special kudos to Allison, the in-house art curator. She was sweet and enthusiastic about her job. Building - Yes, I understand it's an old building. That said, the floor was significantly uneven/tilted in our room, which I never got used to during the visit. The mattress and the pillows were sub-par for the amount per night charged. We stayed at The Vendue to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday. She was enthralled with its off-beat, artsy, avant-garde theme. It's unique, that's for sure. It's also in a great location. All in all, an enjoyable time.

In a wonderful location in the heart of Charleston's historic area, the cheerful, thoughtful staff made our weekend very special. From daily wine tastings and interesting tours of the hotel's own art gallery in the lobby, to arranging restaurants and other activities they were exceptional.

Very cute and a nice welcome upon arrival. Location is fantastic. We stayed in the Enclave part of The Venue, across the street from the main Venue hotel. Enclave is attractive and has everything you need, but the rooms are very small and I found them quite humid and uncomfortable for me personally, although my husband did not feel the same. They have a nice turn-down service and leave you with macaroons every evening. In the morning you receive a bag with apple, banana, croissants, and strawberry/blueberry muffins. There is a resident artist on site and some nice paintings. All in all our stay was very good, but not great just based on room size and more humid than desirable.

Though the art works are nice, the rooms are not really great. Poor views outside of window, if you get a window. We were placed across street in another building.
