Hyatt was a great place to stay with my family for our vacation to Charleston. They provided a great buffet breakfast and ample seating. Free waters daily for the guests in your room. The one downfall was no free parking so it was about $18 a day to park in the attached parking garage. Very walkable to everything and right by the action. Very family friendly and kind staff.

Good location, but otherwise not great.
Right from the check-in, we were not impressed. The front desk clerk was so UNwelcoming that she was almost rude. he generally waved in the direction of things and spoke so quietly and quickly about them that I had to ask her to repeat herself more than once. When we got to our room, it was hot and the refrigerator was plugged in but broken and totally hot. We had brought a bunch of refrigerated items counting on it working. It was not fixed the entire time we were there. There was only one thin sheet and one thin blanket on each bed, and we really needed a thicker blanket or a bedspread/ duvet. And the PARKING! The parking garage is very convenient, but it is not free or discounted for hotel guests, and you can't charge it to you room (unless you valet park, maybe, which is $42 per day!!!!). It's $18 per 24 hours for self-park. On the plus side, the shower was nice, there were plenty of towels, and the room was spacious.
