I should have known XL was a budget flight, just from the fact that I hadn't heard of the airline before. It was as if the CEO of Spirit airlines was in control and thought it would be a good idea to start offering the least possible comfort on transcontinental flights. The seats are extremely narrow with almost zero padding so they are extremely uncomfortable. There is no outlet or USB port to charge electronics, no screens for entertainment or flight details, practically zero refreshments served, only coffee, tea and water; and the meal (one meal on a six hour flight) was basic. I paid extra at the counter to check my bag (on an international flight, never happened before). By the time I return and pay again my flight will have cost more than if I flew on a gorgeous airline. I'm so disappointed and feel scammed.
