This was our favorite vacation rental experience! The host was so thoughtful and detailed. They have a smores machine and the fixings to make s’mores and a kids bedroom/playroom that was stocked with such fun toys as well as the coolest vintage toys. They have many games as well. This was perfect for a family stay as the kids (age 1, 3, 4, and 5) were entertained for two days just with what was stocked in the home! We even had a child knock over a lamp and offered to pay and the owner was so kind to us and told us not to worry about it. We can’t say enough about how gorgeous this place is. It’s across from the street from swings which were also huge hit with the kids. If you have children you NEED to choose this place. It was the best experience with young kids in a rental house that we’ve ever had!

Perfect Location

My husband and I were in town for the Artisans Tent at Historic Zoar Village and the location could not have been better! We were able to walk to the event from the house and the museum's buildings in a few minutes. The house itself should be on the cover of a magazine as it is beautifully restored/decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The host provided detailed check-in instructions and even gave us a delicious restaurant recommendation in Strasburg. If we are ever in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay here again. We had a wonderful stay! A group of teachers stayed here and we loved it. It was beautiful and so charming. It was decorated beautifully with modern touches. It was comfortable, a great place to relax and spend time together. Definitely a place we would love to come back to!

Wonderful one night stay

The only downside to the trip was that we only had one night to stay. We would have loved to have stayed longer. My wife grew up just outside of Zoar and she actually used to babysit for the family who lived in this house back in the 90’s. She was very impressed with how you renovated the house but still managed to keep all of the old character. We will definitely be staying again in the future when we visit family.

A unique experience

Since you are visiting Zoar, you probably have an appreciation of history. This historic property offers a unique opportunity to stay in an important home in the community of Zoar. It looks as it did when it was built, but with all the modern conveniences. I’m very glad that we stumbled across this unique home.

Wonderful choice

Both my partner and I were absolutely blown away by the property and the eye for detail was amazing. In a world where you rarely “get what you pay for”’ it was a pleasure to stay at this property that went above and beyond. We will be coming back.

Great property! So cozy with hospitable touches. Sitting on the screen porch at dusk was a pleasant surprise of fauna engagement- many different birds, black squirrels, bunnies and deer feeding. Loved it! The town has so much good stuff to learn about. Go see the old brewery spot. Cheers!

The property was meticulously renovated to when it was build and has all the modern conveniences. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful, Comfortable, and Interesting Stay

My husband, parents, and I all really enjoyed our time at the Schoolmaster's house in Zoar. This place was immaculately clean, no dust anywhere, really comfortable, and a delight. There were interesting antiques, books about Zoar, and even a record player. This was coupled with really nice touches like air cleaners, elegant bath salts, shampoos, and other bath delights. The kitchen is fully stocked and the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate stand was very much appreciated and used. We have so much fun looking around at everything in the house. And the placement in Zoar is also wonderful. It is quiet at night, Beautiful historic houses and a few shops all around, and the most amazing wetland park on the other side of the main street. We were amazed, delighted, and enjoyed every minute of our stay.
