This is the place to be if you want quiet. There is a neighbor fairly close who happened to have visitors so we heard them a couple of times, but nothing beyond some lively conversation. Most of the time, we heard nothing but ourselves.
Cabin was very clean and communication was fantastic.
Our dog found a mouse in the house on the first night, but let's face it, you're in the middle of the woods. There were no signs that this is a common occurrence. It just happened while we were there. No big deal. As soon as I contacted the host, it was handled quickly and efficiently, and our week moved forward with no other issues.
There was a nice raft provided for rowing around the lake. There are kayaks that we didn't take out because of the raft, but they are available.
The grill worked just fine and there is plenty of firewood provided for the pit.
Understand that there really is not much around if you are looking for tourist attractions. We found a grocery store about 15 minutes away in Sherburne along with a pizza place and some great ice cream at Gilligan's Island. Bigger town about 30 minutes away is Norwich.
We found some great waterfalls in the area, which is something we enjoy doing. You will have to drive to find these things, but we had lots of fun within 30 - 45 minutes away. Also, a great visit to Wolf Mountain Nature Center only 3 miles away. Take the time to do this if you can.
Beware of George Crumb Road. If your navigation sends you there, find the other route - haha. We have an interesting story to tell, but it is definitely not the way to go.
The stay here was quiet and great!
