We just loved the apartment - location, cleanliness, attention to details - all was wonderful! The only caution for some might be the stairs up to the place but it was not big deal for us. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean. Washer and dryer was super convenient. The kitchen didn't get much use because of all the food options within easy walking distance but we sure enjoyed the Illy coffee! The area is bustling but not overly noisy. If there is a wedding or funeral St. Ambrose Cathedral area can get backed up as there are many narrow one way streets with parking on the sides so walking is the preferred way to get around during those times. We walked nearly everywhere except when we had to leave the area to see family. We had great conversations with shop owners and residents alike. We ate at at least 5 Italian restaurants and enjoyed each experience. Gian-Tony's is a personal favorite and he went above and beyond to give me a special treat I requested in advance. Gelato by the fountain is wonderful. Pizza da Gloria was great, Mamas was super good as was Charlie Gittos (fancier). We enjoyed the Antique Marketplace, DiGregorio's, Missouri Baking Company, Cafe Dolce, Volpi and many other places.
