The decor in the hotel is unique/tasteful with a touch of history - I love the plaque of "fastest in the world" in the elevator. My room was very comfortable. The staff was helpful/polite/friendly. The rooftop was a beautiful spot to enjoy a perfect SD day. I'm really glad that I stayed here and would love to come back soon.

My room was spotless and extremely charming, but the best part was the French restaurant next door. Also, there are beautiful long tables to work from during the day, which, if you are traveling alone makes you feel part of a community.

If you’re looking for personality and San Diego history in the Gaslamp District, this hotel delivers. From the vintage 1913 elevator to the cozy rooms, I truly enjoyed my stay here. The rooftop patio is a showstopper and offers a great place to relax and see the city below. Staff were courteous, the restaurant lovely, and the front desk very helpful. The bed is comfy and the in-room bar fridge is stocked. I loved the vibe here, but it’s not for you if you don’t appreciate the quirky bits that come along with a heritage building.
