Beautiful location. Spacious accommodations. Love all the king and queen size beds. Fantastic communication from hosts. Decorated for Christmas which we were gathering to celebrate with family from multiple states. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of space. If needed again for a large family gathering, this is the place!

The hospitality of the hosts was above and beyond. The house was very clean, very comfortable, and perfect for our family's gathering. I booked this house because of the table at which the entire family of 10 could sit together for meals. We are also very fond of older homes that have been remodeled for modern day use -- and this was inspiring!

The Maury River house was hands down the most well-equipped place we have ever stayed! We were in town for a family wedding but could have easily been fully entertained and never left the property. Our 4-year old granddaughter loved the toys in the kids room and the books. She wanted to explore the trunk of dress-up clothes on the porch but we just ran out of time. The shed had bikes and games a d kayaks. A canoe was available as well as plenty of life jackets. The rooms were sparkling clean. The kitchen had every single gadget I needed all weekend and even had a few things that helped tremendously when we hadnt made it to the grocery yet. We arrived a bit before normal check-in and were able to check in early thanks to wonderful hosts Lee and Ian who responded to my request almost immediately. The welcome upon our arrival was extraordinary! A large welcome basket filled with goodies, a hand-written note, fresh flowers, and a cute personalized message on the message board. The whole experience made us all feel like royalty and that our hosts were well pleased we were there (and not a burden). Thank you!

Maury River house family vacation

The Maury River house was a perfect place for our family of twelve’s summer vacation. Beautiful area and surroundings, numerous close accesses to the river, many excursions available in nearby Lexington and the house had all the possible amenities we needed. The hosts were extremely attentive to our every need.

It was a great stay. The house is clean and well stocked. We were there for a family wedding at the Irvine Estate and it was an easy drive. The house has a lot to offer unfortunately we weren’t able to take advantage of it as we were busy with wedding activities all weekend. We recommend this property.

Friends reunion

This was one of the best rental experiences I have ever had. This property is terrific. Antique yet renovated. Very kid friendly. Right on the river. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. We will come back and rent here again.

Our stay was super great here We came in early morning on the day we were scheduled for the house. I texted the owner and asked if there was a chance that we could come earlier than 3:00 PM and they got it arranged where we were able to get there before lunch time. Outstanding accommodations and hosting

Beautifully upgraded, nicely maintained, well supplied, great outdoor spaces. Plenty of beds and couches and really nice lavatory facilities. Hosts communicated quickly and had a ton of local info and history on site. Little touches and amenities were excellent. One of our group will likely bring his family to this choice. It was off-season for affordability, but what a sweet choice. Devil's Backbone food and brews was relatively close and good rating as well.

Great Fun

This home did not disappoint. We had everything we could possibly need. I loved the little signs around the home that explained different things. The welcome basket was a very nice touch. It was warm and cozy. There are just so many nice little touches you just need to rent this beautiful home and experience them for yourselves. Probably one of the best homes we have ever rented to be quite honest. Check it out you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful large home for family gatheri g near Lexington VA

Our stay at the Maury House was exceptional. Thehost was accommodating ( we arrived an hour early) and available. The host responded to my questions immediately. The house is beautiful, well appointed, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Family Fun on the Maury River

We stayed with our adult children and infant grandson and wish we could have stayed longer! The hosts are extremely gracious and responsive; they have thought of every detail. We enjoyed games by the fire and there is a cradle of children's books. The kitchen is well outfitted and we even snipped some fresh herbs from the garden.

Great house for a weekend horse show!

We stayed here with some members of our horseback riding team for an event at Virginia Horse Center. Just 15 minutes from the Virginia Horse Center, and a perfect spot to hang out with the team’s riders, parents, and trainers. The location was fantastic for kids! We had a fire pit, kayaked on the river, and had lots of fun! He house is very well appointed and the hosts were so hospitable!

Rustic Luxury

Lee and Ian’s house in Rockbridge Baths offers rustic luxury about 20 miles from Lexington. It is the perfect place to relax with friends and family. I highly recommend bringing food and cooking in, as the house is located off a windy road that can be challenging at night or in bad weather. The house is extremely well appointed with every convenience. Lee and Ian are gold standard hosts-hospitable, flexible and accommodating.

Best VRBO experience ever. Stay here - you will Not regret it.

Lee and Ian should be doing consulting for VRBO owners that want to provide the over the top experience. I cannot express how lovely this place is. Everything about it was excellent. Extremely clean, comfortable, very roomy. They have thought of everything. Check out was also a treat - very little to do before we left. I am trying to think of when we might return to stay at this amazing house. Thank you both for being perfect hosts and helping make our wedding weekend even better.
