Newcastle Island Vacation Packages

Room was clean/comfortable and looked to be newly renovated. Lots of amenities on site including mini-golf, playground, pool with waterslides, and a convenience store. A little dissapointed that waterslide was closed when we arrived on Sept 16th. I was told at the front desk they shut it down for the season on Sept 15th. This was after I called the resort on Sept 13th to verify if the waterslide would be open, to which I was told it would be in operation until Sept 19th. The sign on the front desk also said it was open until the 19th.

This hotel was located well for visiting Nanaimo, with gorgeous views and friendly staff.

I didn't like the traffic noise, the location was rather remote, and the advertised free breakfast was suspended due to discontinued Covid restrictions. I suspect that was due to a current staffing issue.

This resort is OK. There are better locations if you want to go to the big sand beaches - you have to drive from this resort. Our room was very hot without air conditioning and only one sliding door at the end of a long room. We selected this resort because of the indoor pool but, 2 days before going, we were notified that the pool closes every Monday and Tuesday (our days!). Even though their website says 'open daily'. We were very upset about this.
