I was charged twice for my room. Once by the hotel and once by orbitz, the third party through which I found the hotel room.
When I went to the front desk the next morning to find a solution, I was told that I needed to contact my bank. When I said I don’t think contacting the bank would do anything because the hotel directly owes me a refund, she printed and handed me a receipt. I asked what the receipt was for and she said, “do you see the last four digits of your card number on here anywhere?” (I guess orbitz pays for the room with their own card numbers)
When I pointed out that yes, I did, and showed her where my card number was listed she told me she had to call the guy who checked me in the night before. He didn’t answer. So now I am waiting for a call back to determine what the next steps are.
I was told several times “ma’am, I don’t know what you want me to do” despite showing my bank register that I was double charged by two parties for the same room. I was being very clear and calm when explaining the situation so it’s disheartening to be treated as though they do not appear to have any urgency in assisting in a problem they created. This has happened to me twice now at this hotel & I will not be booking through either site in the future.
The room was fine, the hotel/bathrooms/building grounds are clean. The neighbors we had were noisy until pretty late but, it’s a hotel so it’s a bit of an expectation.
