Hidden hideaway

This property is exactly as described. It is well-maintained and clean. It is tucked away on a private road that is very quiet and secluded. It is a bit tricky to find the turn off, but it is exactly where the owner describes. If you want to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is your place!

Great family get away

This home was better than the listing let on. 3 spacious bedrooms and an open concept kitchen/living area that made it easy for us to spend quality time together. Wrap around porch that was completely gated made it great for our dog. The house was stocked with all the necessities and then some. About 30 minutes to Dodge Ridge, which was great for our snowboarding adventure.Pool table in the garage, plus all kinds of outdoor gear for both winter and summer We'll definitely be back.

Favorite Mountain Get-A-Way!

This is our 3rd time staying at the Knotty Pine now and definitely intend to return for more stays if that tells you anything! We love how private it feels -- even with other cabins on the same road the trees are dense enough you don't really see them. We love to walk the private road and look out over the mountains in between the breaks in the trees. Morning and evening walks are highly recommended for the best views! Overall the cabin is very homey and well stocked. Corina is wonderful to work with if you do encounter any issues. We had a mix up with the lock box code for the house key and within a literal minute of me messaging her, Corina had called me to help troubleshoot the issue. She was even prepared to send over a neighbor with a spare key if we weren't able to get the lock box sorted out. It was so comforting to have her help and know that she's well prepared to address any issues that arise and to do so quickly. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!

We really enjoyed this property! It was very clean and well stocked, easy to get to and had tons of outdoor space for the kids to play in the snow. I’d absolutely book it again. The property manager was friendly and replied very quickly.

Family Fun

My family of 8 enjoyed our stay at the Knotty Pine. The location was great, as you feel secluded but still have modern conveniences nearby, a short 5 minute ride. The cabin is spacious and set up to allow everyone alone time if needed. We absolutely LOVED being able to use the pool table, which was a hit with our family the entire weekend. If you are looking for a modern/minimalist vacation rental, this is not your spot. Many of the properties I’ve stayed at previously gave a hotel like - sterile feel, which you won’t get here. It’s definitely lived in. Meaning, you will feel like you’re staying at someone’s house as opposed to a time-share type experience. My only other criticism is that things were a bit unorganized (tons of bedding stuffed in all the nooks and crannies of closets), board games were missing pieces or were not fully functional (but we brought our own), pool table pockets were held together with duct tape, no pool cue chalk, etc. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the space immensely

Amazing Getaway

This was our second time staying at Corina’s cabin and we seriously did not want to go home! We were impressed with how clean the house, deck and property were. All the information and instructions for check in and check out were very clear. The cabin was very homey and comfortable. We brought our dogs with us and they also had the greatest time in the cabin. Sunbathing on the porch in the mornings was probably their favorite part of the stay. We really love that you can’t super see the neighbors and there’s a secluded feeling to the property. Corina is also very lovely to work with and was always responsive in a timely if we had any questions. We definitely will be back again and highly recommend staying here!

Super Snow Spot

Perfect place for a family getaway! So comfortable & fun for folks of all ages (furry friends included). Corina is super helpful and easy to communicate with, and just goes above and beyond with amenities and niceties :) Fully stocked kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms! My littlest loved the secret toy closet while my teens loved the Wii & DVDs. We all loved the snow play spot right outside our front door! Great place, great host :)

Amazing! Lovely all around

We had a wonderful stay here. There were soo many wonderful things- from the wonderful toys for the kids (yes yes this is huge when you have littles), to the wonderful location to play in the snow, close to town, friendly neighborhood dog that my kids loved, warm cozy inside with everything you need! The house was very clean and organized, there were a few things we ran into and not only was the owner friendly, super willing to help, but overly kind. It was incredible to have such a wonderful owner that you could get a hold of. The wood stove made for a very cozy house and was totally enough to heat it up. A wonderful hill right outside the front door for snow play so there was no need to travel. 10 stars from us- we totally plan to go back!

It was a pleasure to stay at Corina’s cabin for a short weekend. There was a ton of snow, so we made a sledding hill on her property that was better than anything we nearby! Very clean, inviting home. Will be back!

Winter getaway

The knotty pine is a great little cabin for some time in the mountains. It was clean and the wood burning stove did a great job heating the entire place. It’s a nice short drive to Dodge Ridge for skiing and snow play. It would’ve been nice if there was a place to hang wet snow clothes in the laundry room but other than that, it worked great for us and we’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful stay. We loved being so close to Pinecrest. We spent a day at Yosemite also. Owner was awesome about helping us with anything we needed, even helping us find a dog sitter. We were a little hot, but it was the first week of August and no A/C. We also did some laundry and some of our clothes didn’t make it do to the high mineral count in the well water. Not a big deal for us, but nice to know you might end up with some rust looking clothes if you need to do laundry.

The place was great! I really liked the privacy of it, access to anything needed was there. Very easy and accessible, stores very close by. Property manager was the best there could be, was very helpful and detailed which made things even better. Overall my family and I had an amazing time !!

Great place to relax in the woods

If you want to get away to the woods, but you don't want to rough it, this is a great place to stay. Everything was clean and in good condition. We were there in July and appreciated that there were plenty of fans to keep the rooms cool, and the deck was wonderful for lazy mornings and lazy afternoons. We spent a lot of time out there! Our dog had a fantastic time too. The gated deck was handy and the very large driveway gave us plenty of space for playing. Corina was easy to reach, very helpful and flexible. The few neighbors we met were also very nice. It's a lovely area to explore in summer – we enjoyed hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, and a little excursion to Columbia State Historic Park and downtown Sonora. It felt fairly secluded - the private road didn’t have a lot of traffic, and we couldn’t hear the highway - and yet most everything we wanted to do was only 20-30 minutes away. The Knotty Pine was a great base from which to explore. My family, who had never been up to the area with me, want to go back.

Great time in the snow?

We had the best time at the KnottyPine! The cabin was exactly how it’s described. It was perfect for my family of four with plenty of room. The king bed was so comfortable! It was close to where we wanted to take our grandson sledding. He’s four years old and he loved the sno-park! I loved being able to communicate with our host Corina. She was so nice and friendly!! We hope to go back in the future.

Responsive host. Easy to find. Clean and stocked with useful items. Enough room for our group of 7. Only downside is all the mattresses are very worn and uncomfortable. Stay was short so we managed. All in all, I’d probably rebook.

Awesome location!!

Who wouldn’t want to stay in the forest??!! Turned down the road go get to the cabin and was already impressed!!! The cabin itself was very clean and cozy with an open floor plan for all to be together. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you would need. There’s a wall heater but it wasn’t needed, the wood burning stove with plenty of wood heats up both levels and retained the heat. The outdoor space is gorgeous with trees galore and the peace and quiet of being in seclusion is always nice when you want to escape the hustle and bustle. There’s plenty of games and we found a pool table in the garage which the men played a game. The communication with Corina was a wonderful experience and she was in contact every step of the way. She allowed us to check in early and even offered an extra hour to depart which wasn’t requested…..I don’t know any owner who would do that unless requested but she did. Thank you Corina for sharing your beautiful cabin with us….we will be back!

Peaceful forest setting

This was the perfect place for our summer vacation. The Knotty Pine Cabin is located on a quite road with just a few other homes of which most were unoccupied during our stay. The cabin has everything you could need to help make your stay comfortable. The home was very clean and homey. We spent lots of time on the deck reading and enjoying the sounds of nature. Pinecrest Lake is a short drive away and we enjoyed the beach a few days - midweek was the time to go. Twain Harte is just a short drive down the road - the Twain Harte Market is impressive for a small mountain village. Corina was an amazing host! There was a PG&E power outage due to a fire in Sonora and Corina had been alerted by PG&E. She text us to make sure we were aware and to let us know where candles and flashlights were located in the cabin. Wow! We picked the Knotty Pine Cabin because it was pet friendly - we had no idea what a great place it would be for our Golden Retriever! Time at the lake, daily off-leash walks through the forest, tracking a doe and buck that wandered through the property, flushing out a peacock that lives nearby, and the neighbor dog, Lexi, who would walk with us and was the perfect dog companion for our Hobbes. We have shared what a delightful place Knotty Pine Cabin is with friends and family. We look forward staying at this special place again!

Marvelous Getaway!

This is as really nice property in a secluded pine grove with nice views of the forested mountain range. It has a great deck and a nicely appointed kitchen for cooking family meals. MiWuk is a great area for families and nature lovers alike. So much to do and see.
