The room was listed as a one bedroom, but was, in fact, a studio. I understand that new carpet and flooring have been installed, but the place was dirty. Stains that appeared to be old blood stains on the bedspread and a bed pillow were gross. The baseboards were filthy. The freezer needed to be defrosted and was barely usable. One of the windows was without a screen, and they all need to be replaced. The fan looked like it had black fur on the edges. The closet door was off its tracks. Cobwebs were present from the "mantle" to the wall. My sister came for one night since it "sleeps 3," but the pullout had no sheet available, and the mattress had to be pulled onto the floor to be usable. Luckily, there was a blanket she could roll up in. I felt like I was constantly needing to message the property manager so we wouldn't get charged for damages that were there before. She was very prompt in her responses. We were amazed at all of the "great stay" messages in the guest book. Maybe they didn’t want to get charged either and left it to the next guy? With no onsite manager, people felt free to smoke about the property, which came in the one open window. The good: From a standing position, you could see the beach. The views truly were spectacular! Proximity to the beach and a nice restaurant were appreciated. The direct access down the stairs on the beach side of the patio was great. Nice to see Sea Gypsy embossed into the retaining wall for identification. Plenty of parking!
