The house was very clean and generally as described. The host texted me on on the day of check-in that the pool heater had broken. The pool was not heated, but they were working on fixing this. I patiently waited the first couple of days for the pool to heat. It never got warm enough to swim. The maintenance person informed me the heater was only strong enough to heat either the spa OR the pool, not both at once. The spa was warm sometimes, not all the time. I had no control over the temperature for the spa nor the pool. We were only able to use the spa once in a while. Sometimes I went outside to use it, and I could not due to it being cold. The owner sent maintenance who tried to monitor the pool and spa heater via a remote app. The concern was regarding how to monitor the temp remotely, and not fixing the problem of a cold pool.We booked the house primarily for a heated pool. When asked, the owner defended that it was February and it was not realistic to expect a heated pool. I expected the heated pool because it was advertised. The owner was responsive but ultimately the problem was never fixed. We enjoyed the island but never the pool. It was a waste. We paid more for this premium feature. The owner refused to provide any type of credit. Vrbo sided with me and provided a small vrbo credit. If you stay here, do not expect resolutions for maintenance problems.
