Days prior, general correspondence with the host, I reviled that we were 7 hours from the house we booked. I also indicated we would be leaving early to stop at some places along the way.Morning of the 19th the host told us due to an ice storm the rental had no power. Around 9 AM they said the power was restored. At 1:30 PM the host said the pipes were still frozen, this was the first I was told about frozen pipes and my payment was refunded to my account. I’m 5 hours from home and I get a refund.I called Vrbo. I explained we had no internet service because of the storm. I was told I was going to be connect to a supervisor who would find a rental comparable to my original booking.He had no intension on finding me a rental, in fact he told me he couldn’t book anything for me that day (the 19th) He told me to find one myself. He knew I had no internet, he told me to check into a hotel. I was meeting up with family, there were 5 of us, where can you get a hotel for 5 people.Restoring power doesn't instantly thaw pipes, that takes time. If I knew the pipes were frozen I would have found somewhere else to stay.
