I rented this beautiful lake house for my daughter’s bachelorette party. It was absolutely perfect as her dream bachelorette consisted of hiking and enjoying nature. The paddle boat made for a lovely morning memory with her sister even with a slight sprinkle of rain. The evening kayaking was awesome! The house itself was under sold, it is more beautiful than the pictures do justice. Coffee on the deck overlooking the lake and beautiful scenery was a great way to start the day. Close to so many great hiking trails and of course the southern Illinois wineries, you won’t be bored! We will definitely be back!

Where to start here. We really loved this place for quite a few reasons. First of all the property was kept up very well with every amenity we could think of needing available. The location is perfect, not too far from Macks, Pyramid Acres, and Cross Eyed bear and right on the shoreline in a bay. The dock was enormous with plenty of kayaks, a canoe, and paddle boat which was great for the entire family. We saw more nature in two days there then I typically see in a given week or two in town. Loved the firepit seating area, the porches, the clean air and clean house interior, and plenty of grilling equipment to boot (including a blackstone). Gerald was extremely responsive and accommodating as well explaining options and ideas to us. Will be back multiple times!

Gerald, the owner was great ! The house was immaculate and staged sooo cute. We went to do a little spring crappie fishing, but the place was so relaxing and comfortable, we only went once. We just couldn't leave the comfort and privacy of the porch/deck, especially with all the small wild life. Absolutely enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend this Host and his wonderful property. We have stayed on the lake for 7 years, but the first time here with Gerald. Lucky us !!

Everything at the Eagles nest was perfect! The house and rooms were spotless. Kitchen had every thing we needed. The outside area is very private and peaceful, with multiple bird feeders that brought in a variety of birds that were fun to watch in the morning while relaxing on the upper porch. The dock is very spacious and sturdy. We would recommend staying here to anyone.

This was our second visit to the chalet. It feels like our home away from home and I'm confident we'll return again. The host has put a lot of effort into anticipating guests' needs down to the smallest detail. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen. The entire property is pristine and cozy with beautiful views! Beds are comfortable. Gerald was extremely kind, we felt well looked after, and he was readily available but not at all intrusive. Thanks for another perfect visit!

The lake house was perfect! The kitchen was equipped with all the amenities we needed, and then some! We used the Blackstone multiple times and loved it. The host was very responsive when we had a slight hiccup with the grill which was remedied first thing the next day. The view of the lake was perfect and the dock was perfect for fishing, relaxing, and enjoying dinner. This was top 3 best VRBO properties/host I’ve ever stayed with. Highly recommend!!

This was our favorite place we have stayed thus far! The owner was great to work with and always available for anything. The house had literally EVERYTHING-from kitchen to bedding and grills and lake toys and grills!! Nice big covered dock, water toys for the kids, plenty area to sleep. The house was fully equipped even has salt lamps and air purifiers!! The decor was super nice and lake life! We can’t wait to come back we got to celebrate my dad’s bday with the grandkids and experience great memories on the water! No complaints here!! Can’t wait to come back!! Also great location on the lake!!! Close to it all! Thank you Gerald!! Hope to see you next season!

A great refuge from the summer heat. The variety of kayaks plus paddle board plus canoe ensured everyone could enjoy the water in the no wake cove. The dock is a major highlight with fans, fish cleaning station, picnic tables and Lilly pad for relaxing or playing. Secluded and quiet, deer came through twice. Plenty of shade and balcony seating to contemplate how good life is. Already looking forward to my next visit. I live local, but this is a perfect place to gather with family and enjoy Southern Illinois.The house had every amenity we needed, comfortable, and you could gather or spread out as you prefer. On a steep slope, so lots of stairs, but the views are worth it.
