Sunsets and Good vibes

To summarize our overall impression of our mini stay we had an absolute blast from the game room to the pond. The only concerns we had were with the TVs and our lack of understanding on how to use them, but that’s something that I’m sure can get get fixed later. Aside from that which shouldn’t be an issue if you’re staying here anyways because you’ll wanna be outside or by the pool, we had an absolute blast and we look forward to coming back again in just a couple months

Cruise Sleepover

Fam of 11 gathered from around country to cruise and stayed here night b4 we left. Great location and rental. Brought casseroles for supper, walked beach and played cards. Will stay here again.

Dance among cockroaches

This property was a disappointment when it comes to private stays. The house was literally a plethora of cockroaches that would come out from ALL areas esp. the kitchen!!! After we cleaned the kitchen, while we were preparing the food we saw cockroaches roaming on the kitchen countertop and island. When I contacted the owner about the infestation they audaciously asked me to use the spray in the closet. They told me that pest control was done every week.. I mean are you kidding me!!! Also the property is not on the main road as advertised it’s all the way inside at the end of the lot right beside a scrapyard. The fourth bedroom (one with the gaming machine) is not attached to the house but is a separate stand alone structure. The description says converted shed but it doesn’t say that the fourth bedroom is that shed!! Also there were frogs going in and out of the shed door in the night. I understand that it might be said that some might say amount of nature is expected but this was just Plain ignorance and lack of maintenance. I have stayed in Galveston and south padre many times but encountering this type of infestation and bad property was my first.P.S. I have pictures should anyone want to see the cockroach intrusion

Roaches

Saw roaches crawling in the vent under the fridge, in front of fridge, stove, and ac return. When I saw the first one, I sprayed with raid (always bring it since ants are common at beach towns) but then multiple roaches started crawling out in reaction to me spraying near fridge. After about a half hour there were a dozen or so dying and scurrying. When I reached out to the property manager or owner (not sure which I was speaking to) the very first reply was no refunds… he did offer to have someone come spray the next day, but I explained I did not feel comfortable staying there with that many roaches as they potentially could crawl into and or lay eggs in luggage so I was not comfortable with that. They offered no other solution. I had to find a hotel last minute, and the owner has stopped communicating about refunding. I now have had to involve both Vrbo and my bank. The whole order has caused a very stressful vacation with hours of my time having to be spent trying to be refunded for an unsanitary property.

Family vacation

Very private, perfect location close enough to town but a little bit farther from crowds. Literally 3 minute drive from beach. There was a plumbing emergency which initially took some time for property manager to realize extent but then they were appropriately responsive and were able to get accomodations arranged while problem was addressed. Would definitely stay again. appropriately

Great family trip

Loved the adorable bungalow. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and it rained, at times heavily, during our trip, so we weren’t able to take full advantage of the pool but we did get in as much as we could. The house was very clean and had room for our family. The kids loved being in the bunk beds. We passed the rainy days playing games and watching the giant television. The kids spent time playing the video games and foosball. Many memories were made and we will definitely return in the future.

So much potential and BUGS

We stayed for a week and honestly couldn’t wait to get home. The home has a serious issue with cockroaches and mosquitoes. Couldn’t walk outside without instantly being eaten alive and couldn’t enjoy inside for mosquitoes flying in and cockroaches crawling around. I hope the property owner fixes the pest issues so the property can be enjoyed.

Peaceful Beach Vacation

Disappointed

We arrived for a one night stay as a short getaway. Had an issue with getting the key out f the lockbox but we resolved it fairly quickly with property manager. Overall it was a nice place, but we did notice a few small roaches running around. Living on the coast myself I’m use to seeing roaches of varying sizes. But as the evening wore on it became obvious this was more than just a couple. They were everywhere, we decided no stay and booked other other accommodations. The other disappointment was the fact that the property management did not make any attempt to compensate us or try to make it right. I hope they will take care of this issue.

Barefoot Bungalow

It’s an old cozy bungalow in a very private area with a beautiful nature around. But unfortunately it has a huge problem with cockroaches,especially in the kitchen area behind the fridge and stove. The smell that came out of behind the fridge and stove was very disturbing. We have already informed the owner and hopefully he can solve this problem. The pool and pool area and BBQ area was very clean. The same with the bedrooms and bathrooms. There were enough towels,toilet paper and cleaning supplies. All appliances in the kitchen were fully functioning. There were some minor things that need to take care of and we have already informed the owner about them.

The property was EXTREMELY dirty, TRASH EVERYWHERE, we found a live coach roach next to a pill by the bed, multiple peoples underware outside ,used q-tips, the pond is not a pond it’s a hazard filled with trash that stinks! Beware!!! check in was at 4:00 pm, I had to ask them multiple times for the code wasn’t able to check in until around five because of this negligence. Im paying almost $400 a night this is unacceptable!

good for family vacation

we loved staying here kids loved the pond out back fishing and crab and we made some great memories only thing was bad was the mosquitoes outside but other than that we stayed at the beach most of the time

Great Location

The property was as expected, the online listing was spot-on.The cowboy pool was an unexpected bonus. The kids 12 and under loved it. When we arrived, the outdoor bedroom was not closed all the way and we suspected it had been broken into. As it turns out, it was just broken. I reported it and someone was out there really quickly. That was appreciated. However, the door never shut and locked due to the post that should have been at the top to hold the door in place must have been broken. The house was not very clean at all, we had to wipe down all surfaces and there was no broom in it to give it a good sweep. The outer room had wet Pine-Sol on the floor. The Pool pump and AC unit could not run at the same time. A larger AC would be better. There were bugs everywhere in the house, on the ceiling, in cobwebs, roaches in cabinets and bathrooms and outer room. We got bug and wasp spray and treated it ourselves. I apologize for not washing the dishes, I couldn't get internet there and did not read departure rules till I got home.

Great little property.

There was plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 kids. Was room for more people. Property is not super close to other houses. We wanted to be able to relax and not have to worry about being too loud. We had problems with the microwave. A new microwave arrived shortly after I notified my contact person. Very nice to work with.

A Tranquil Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the property, it was just as pictured. It was quiet. My family & I enjoyed watching the wildlife that would come visit. We went fishing & crabbing in the pond. My only complaint is the microwave didn't heat so we had to do everything on the stove top or in the oven.
