Clean, roomy, great view, easy drive to Roche Harbor or Friday Harbor.Big drawback: hot tub stopped working after 10 minutes of use, and needed parts that would not arrive until after our visit was over. Rental agency was responsive when I called.

A Nice Getaway

We had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of room for just two of us. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and spices. The hot tub area was improved and updated from the pictures. So that was nice. We would stay here again.

What a view!

The view was exceptional! Besides all the boats we saw whales, deer, otters and seals. The sunsets were beautiful. We loved our time on the deck. It's true that house is a little tired and the kitchen is dated, but that did not really distract from our stay. The house was very clean and well stocked, and the hot tub very well maintained. We have stayed in many rentals and would rate this one very high.

Serene views, fun decor, hot tub!

We loved this cute mid-century modern home. Comfortable beds and furniture, and excellent decor — a bit quirky, a little science-y, with plenty of local pride and a little history in the mix. Books and games. Can we talk about the view? Water, islands, trees. So lovely and calming. Whether you’re relaxing in the living room, eating on the deck or chilling in the hot tub, you’ll be mesmerized by the view of the strait and Henry Island, with Canada visible in the distance. Location is near Roche Harbor, the sculpture garden, Snug Harbor (we did an awesome Crystal Seas kayak tour out of Snug Harbor resort), and the fantastic Westcott Bay Shellfish Co. Not too far from Lime Kiln State Park. Very near the alpaca farm, which we didn’t end up having time to visit — but you should. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc and also helpfully stocked with sugar, spices, salt. Bathrooms had hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and plenty of TP. Not the newest or fanciest house on the island - but comfy, casual, and full of character. I took so many photos of the cool decor. We loved our stay here.

Lovely home!

The house location and views are outstanding. There was a surplus of cooking utensils, dishware, appliances, and bedding. The check in process was super easy and clear. One suggestion would be to have coffee on hand. Overall such a great stay, thank you very much!

Spring break

The house was amazing! My family of four had a wonderful spring break on the island. We had busy days and coming back to the house with a hot tub and a place to have a fire outside was so nice. You seriously can’t beat the views either. We would totally stay again. Also, my family is still talking about how comfortable the beds were.

Lovely home with a fantastic view

We loved staying here. It was exactly as it looked in the pictures, especially the view! We loved relaxing on the back deck and we even had a little sea otter friend who visited our beach every day. Close enough to town to get there easily but far enough away that we felt like we were in our own private sanctuary. Would definitely stay here again!

Terrific views

This was a lovely home that offered beautiful views of Vancouver and Henry Islands with amazing sunsets. We had seals in our backyard every morning and every night as well, and 2 deer that would come in the front yard as well. We even briefly saw the humpback whale across Haro Strait!!! The outside flora could have used a mow or some more maintenance, the upstairs mattresses were uncomfortable, and the pots and pans could be updated (we had a hard time cooking breakfast in a couple of them) but that’s just being nit picky. We would come back in a heart beat!!!

Nothing beats this view

What a stunning view and hot tub! The house was comfortable and felt homey. This isn’t a pristine home or property, which didn’t bother us but felt different than the listing a bit. It feels like a cozy, well-loved gma-like cabin with comfortable furniture and also a bit of deferred maintenance in places. Overall, you can’t beat this view and the hot tub was perfect (though the approach and path was a bit precarious). Enjoyed our stay and hot tub experience!

Beautiful waterfront setting on San Juan Island

We really enjoyed our stay at "The Space Between" looking out toward Henry Island. Everything was great-- the kitchen was well supplied, the hot tub was great, and the view was gorgeous. Our suggestions to make improvement would be: 1) get a rug for the livingroom space, and 2) get a better table and chairs for the dining space. It felt a bit sparse, and the "quality" of the furnishings could be upgraded. Otherwise, we loved it.

Whale watching from the deck

What an incredible home on the shore of San Juan Island! Our family loved our stay, we saw orcas, humpbacks, and harbor seals from the back porch - you cannot beat this view.

As advertised, but shabby.

Only one old TV. Other TV in lower level just for DVDS, It worked the first day, then no TV. Called property manager but didn't respond until next day. We had one day left we paid for, but with no TV we vacated in the morning, not sleeping there. Ice maker broken, only half the toaster worked, pillows were very old, no wine opener! B T

Outstanding San Juan Island waterfront home with sunset views!

Our Family of 4 had a great time staying at The Space Between on San Juan Island. Plenty of space to relax and watch the sunset after whale watching, kayaking, checking out the light houses or shopping in Friday Harbor. Kitchen had plenty of countertop space and was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable and provided support for older backs! We loved eating breakfast and dinner on the deck watching the boats and looking for wildlife. Great Stay!

The wifi instrutions were not where we were told. It took us several hours to find it. The kitchen counter tops were sticky so we had to wash them. Otherwise it was great..

Stunning sunsets in a charming house with a fantastic location

Five friends, four nights and a flawless and relaxing vacation. The house is exactly as advertised and we loved it. You can always reach the property management company if needed. We brought our standup paddleboards and hit the harbor, cooked almost every meal in the kitchen, with one night of BBQ'ing and an amazing bayside brunch at the Westcott Bay Aquafarm & outdoor restaurant. If you like shellfish, this is a MUST visit. The alpaca farm down the road was lovely. The perfect 5 day vacation. Thank you!

A wonderful place for our weekend!

This house was exactly what we wanted - and was just as it had been advertised. Right on the water with seals and otters in attendance, a lovely deck and hot tub very private but close to Roche Harbor and very comfortable. Loved the "antique" touches too!
