As the former President and CEO of a technology company, I stayed in Hyatt Place locations as often as possible. And this one is no different, great staff, clean rooms and extremely helpful and friendly service. That said, I also want to warn you about something that happened to me, the first time in 40 years. Beware, I highly recommend that you do not Prepay for your accommodations, even if there is a slight difference in the nightly rate. I prepaid for 4 nites a total of $621.19. But an emergency came up and I had to leave after only one night. This Hyatt Place refused to credit back for the unused nites because I prepaid. That amounts to approximately $465.28 that the Hotel kept for unused nights. So in effect, I paid $621.19 for one night at the Hyatt Place - Fairlawn , NJ. Doesn't seem right to me.

This hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms were large and comfortable. Only complaint is that our room was at the end of a hall on the first floor, next to a door to the outside. Lots of slamming of the door and smell of weed going on.

Good stay, rooms were good. Like the spacious space & breakfast was very good as a couple of things changed daily ie bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles so it was nice that if you were staying for a few days that it wasn’t the same thing every day. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was that it was literally off the freeway with 3 exits so it was stressful to try and cross over to far left exit which is nearly impossible as traffic was moving so quickly but no fault of the hotel but just to be aware.

The rooms are dated and there was something weird on the ceiling. Breakfast was not what we expected. Hotels.com said the hotel had a hot tub and it did not. The pool was also closed for our stay. Staff was very friendly.

TV didn't work!

The main issue was, it was raining so our TV didnt work for the entire night. The sheets had rips in them, the corners of the room hadn't been vaccumed, the bathroom door was 1/8" from hitting the toilet not sure how thats up to code.
