Motel 6 Fort Bragg, CA
4/5 Good
"Overall I had a better than expected experience at this Motel 6. I was actually pretty happy with my stay. The main thing they got right is that the bed in my room was very very comfortable. Sometimes I didn’t want to get out of bed too! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a Motel 6 and had that experience. Most of the beds were good enough to get decent sleep in, but not as amazing as this one. My room did have a funky old sock smell when I first checked in. But I cleared it up with some Febreaze spray I borrowed from a house keeper. The front desk people did offer to move me but it was either go to an upstairs room which I didn’t want or wait a day for a ground floor to become available. So I kept my room. The smell did go away even more once I had them clean my room a few days later. I should have just had them clean it sooner. Staff was mostly friendly except the lady working the desk at night when I checked in who was not rude, but not very friendly or helpful either. But everyone else was very nice. Parking was good except one weekend night when it was sold out. I couldn’t park close to my room. But not that big of a deal. I was able to park my Uhaul in a good space my last night there. A lot of the place looked like it was under construction including road work. Parking lot was old and had a few big pot holes. Pool was closed. Restaurant looked like it had been permanently closed for years. But I get the feeling they are making improvements. I plan to stay again. Good $"
