The house was beautiful and stunning panoramic ocean views. Conveniently located to the trail and a close 1 mile walk in each direction to shops and restaurants. Really no outdoor grassy area but the patio space is great.

Lovely beach cottage with ocean views and just steps away from a safe walking trail that leads into the heart of Cardiff. Close proximity to everything you need for a perfect beach getaway that feels relaxing, without all the crowds. The cottage itself is well cared for and thoughtfully furnished. Unique to the cottage is its beautiful artwork in the form of hand painted tiles, stained glass, and paintings made by the owners. This cottage has character. Not your everyday rental. It’s a gem.

Cardiff Magic

Enjoyed one lovely week with my 9 yo and hubs. Amazing location and killer outdoor space. My son was enamored with the loft bed we dubbed his "nest". Highly recommend the space!

Amazing views!

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Cardiff! Lynn, Kit & Tyler were very responsive and awesome hosts. It was the perfect home base to visit our family in Carls Bad. Our 20-something sons loved the proximity to 2 great surf breaks and my husband and I loved the walking/biking/running path to soak up the views and pick up some famous VG donuts on the way home. Excellent experience all around, will definitely be back!

California bliss

Amazing view, spent as much time on the porch as possible soaking it all in. Location was great with a kid - easy walk to Encinitas and Cardiff. Place was super spacious and well equipped - hope to be back soon!

Perfect beach VRBO

The Best of Southern Cal

After a wild week throwing a major national conference of educators in Anaheim, we found this cozy seaside cottage to be the perfect restful place to recharge our batteries. The tastefully outfitted vintage place was everything we needed, both physically and naturally, as we visited our favorite old friends and place in an area we know well. Fabulous beaches, dramatic sunsets, great restaurants, diverse hiking trails... all right there. The thoughtfulness and hospitality of Kit and crew added to the feelings of returning home. Thanks for a perfect stay.

Ideal location and cozy accommodations

The location was perfect. A 10-12 minute walk to the beach, grocery store, dining, shopping--Swami's Beach, Cardiff Town Center, and downtown Encinitas. And the weather was perfect for walking everywhere. We even took the Coaster train from Encinitas to downtown San Diego. The beach cottage was cozy and relaxing. Plenty of room for our family of four. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We needed assistance with an item and the on-site person quickly responded and fully addressed our need. We'll definitely be back. We really enjoyed our time at the Cardiff Beach Cottage.

Family visit

Nice property, a few steps but managed ok.good parking. Just wish we had some sun but the cloudy conditions made it feel cozy and comfortable. My sister and brother in law loved watching the parade of walkers. Good assortment of appliances and although we did not cook it was nice to have options. Would certainly consider using again.

Grandpa’s 90th Birthday in San Diego

I booked this place for my grandparents and mom to celebrate my grandpa’s 90th birthday in San Diego. I live in San Diego and this location was perfect, walking distance to downtown Encinitas, ocean views, and outdoor space for BBQing. From the moment my booking was confirmed, Lynn made sure I knew there were stairs leading up to the house to ensure my grandpa would be able to take them. We enjoyed BBQing on the front deck, hanging out around the fire pit, looking out over the ocean. Lynn was very responsive throughout the entire process - from booking, answering questions during our stay, and after as well. We would stay here again!
