Whoever stayed before us didn’t follow the trash rules but we cleaned up the bins as best we could. Great experience. Great place! Plan to stay again if we make it down here again.

The view is breathtaking! This home is an absolute gem. Our family really enjoyed the home and the surrounding property. My four kids loved our family vacation in Southern Illinois and loved staying in this home during our adventure.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! When we turned into the driveway I was blown away by the view. Owners were very responsive and helpful. It's close to several wineries and restaurants, yet secluded enough for a private getaway. The upstairs loft bedroom had a Jacuzzi tub and walk in shower that was amazing! We will definitely be back.

Loved our stay — great spot

Our group of four friends stayed here for three nights and we really loved the cabin and the surrounding natural space. It is every bit as good as it looks in the listing. I would recommend this spot to anybody.

Beautiful private home with outstanding view

We very much enjoyed our weekend at this wonderful home. Everything was clean and well decorated. Kitchen is well stocked. Communication with host was easy and quick. Beautiful backyard with firepit and bluff views. Front deck is very large and provides a gorgeous view. Would definitely recommend to others staying in the area & would love to visit again one day.

gorgeous property and surrounding area. Relaxed at the house around the fire and balcony, fished the pond. Great area to catch the wine trail. Several wineries within 15-20 min drive.

Ladies wine weekend

Beautiful property with an amazing view. It was the perfect place to access the local wineries during the day and enjoy each other's company playing cards and catching up. We were able make some great dinners and enjoy the firepit. Great property can't wait to come back!

Peaceful and surean

We celebrated my husbands 80th birthday with the kids and grandkids. We spent time fishing and outdoor time and games at night. Kids and grands came from Springfield, IL, Colorado and California. Our 8 year described the house as a cabin and the downstairs as a hotel.

Amazing views and privacy

Very well stocked house. The owners don't expect you to bring your own supplies which makes the stay more relaxing. The bluffs behind the house are incredible. Views out front gorgeous. Nearby hiking and wineries. Great stay:)

Perfect Getaway

What a fabulous weekend at Rock Ridge! Fishing, hiking, S’mores & laughter around the campfire, stargazing, the list goes on! 4 adults and 3 kids ages 8-12 - never lacking something to do! Allison was fantastic to communicate with, just made things go so smoothly. Thank you again and we’ll be back.

A perfect place to reconnect with family, friends, and nature.

Spent Memorial Day on the property with family and our friend's family. The drive up is gorgeous and the view from the living room is breathtaking. Perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or for stargazing at night. Property was well kempt and the owner was very responsive anytime we had a question. It was an easy drive to the numerous sites in the Shawnee National Forest. We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend this property to anyone interested in spending quality time with friends or family.

Family graduation weekend

My husband and adult children spent the weekend in this lovely home for our daughter’s SIU law school graduation.The home has incredible views from all rooms.The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were very comfortable.We were happy to have found this home and highly recommend.
