Our experience with this property was a nightmare.
After being in the house for about an hour, my husband was having a hard time breathing. We looked around, and there was mold everywhere—on the headboard, walls, and ceiling, and most disgustingly, there was black mold in the ice maker. We looked for a hotel and checked out.
Here are the details. We checked in and were rushing to meet our family for dinner, so we unpacked the car and left. We returned from dinner, put our leftovers in the fridge, and then got ready for bed. My husband started feeling sick, and it was hard for him to breathe, so we turned on the AC in the room with the double beds and turned down the sheet to lie down. The sheets were disgusting, had hair and dirt, and the AC unit smelled terrible. We then decided to try the other room. We pulled down the sheets, and there was also hair on the sheets, and we noticed mold on the headboard/wall. We then inspected the house and found mold all over. It was disgusting. We messaged the host that we were leaving, checked into a hotel, and sent the pictures we took to VRBO. They gave us a full refund. The next day, the property manager took zero accountability, as you can see in her responses to reviews, and accused us of checking out the next day, not at midnight. I told them we have a hotel receipt and dashcam footage to prove our timeline and that their response was unprofessional. If this were a property manager for a house I rented, I would be appalled.
