This place is adorable and perfect for the single or couple traveler. The studio is small but comfortable. Walking in to the smell of fresh baked bread was amazing.

The town is a bit on the downtrodden side but nothing scary. Friendly people. There is a mentally challenged guy who lives across the street, however. He shouts a lot but is harmless. And he quieted down after dinner time. The accommodations were really nice though and met my expectations. I’d have given 5 stars if not for the noisy neighbor.

I felt the property was very well appointed. From plush towels to the high end appliances and adjustable base bed, our stay was very pleasant. The fresh baked bread upon arrival is still spoken about by my girlfriend...nice touch! On the negative side, it would be convenient to have more than a single frying pan and there were a couple of outdoor lights that were burned out

Great, clean place to stay

It is a small studio, but everything you need is there. The bed was comfortable and it was very clean. The only small issue is there isn't very much water pressure in the shower.

The studio apartment is very nice. It has a nice little couch and the bed was great. It does have a two burner stove top but I did not use that. I just used the microwave and the refrigerator. Since it ended up just being me there that's all I needed. The only thing that I did not like, was that there was no water pressure in the shower. It was like a light rain.

Very nice overnight stay

It was great to find this home/studio waiting for us after a long road trip. Jason and Heather had the place spotless and tech-ready for us. The location was interesting in that the home had its own large corner lot with lots of grass frontage giving you lots of exterior privacy. Perfect for what we wanted and needed. Will book here again next time we're coming through.

Trip from Washington

My wife and daughter made a return trip from Washington after college, my wife and i have stayed here a couple times already during our trips back and forth. In the past we have been greeted by the wonderful smell of fresh baked bread when we arrived and opened up the door, so my wife really talked the experience up with our daughter and was eagerly anticipating that aroma with her mouth watering when they arrived. Sad to say, that was not the case this time, there was no fresh baked bread, so they just dropped off their bags and hurried to one of the nearby restaurants to get dinner real quick. That nice little extra touch really made a good impression on us and added to the overall experience, something that a return guest looks forward to.

Decent but loud

Property access code wasn’t ready for the stay and took about 30 min for the manager to set the code in person. Fridge in the sleeping area was loud, bright. Location is near busy streets, loud and hard to sleep. Overall fine but wouldn’t stay again.

This Place Doesn't Fail

This is our second time staying in this particular site. We love it. There is everything you need, it's a short walk to downtown, with a walking path nearby. We enjoy coming back from a busy day and settling into the comfy adjustable bed to watch a movie. The bed is a little high so I bring a folding stepstool. We make a point of staying in places where Jason and Heather are hosts. You can always expect quality.

perfect place for one night as we traveled through Baker CIty with our dog. Close to the park for walks and downtown to get something to eat. We love the Sweet Wife Bakery for breakfast!

Nice and close to downtown

Very clean and nice accommodations. Heated floor in bathroom was great! Only issue was the wifi was not functioning for a couple hours on day 2 and I was attempting to get some work done. Other than that everything was great.

Great Location

The Downtown Retreat is situated perfectly. This was my second stay at the retreat. I walked to the shops and restaurants. Enjoyed live music three times from two different bands. Breakfast at Sweet Wife is always excellent. The retreat has everything you need and is a comfortable stay. Excellent hosts and service.

Loved being so close to downtown. The cottage is clean and cozy. It provides many amenities Loved the fresh bread. Also, it’s perfect for Fido. Close to a park for a walk about. Definitely will stay here again.
