This was a wonderful location next to Vondel Park. There were loads of restaurants and great shopping opportunities. Everything was very walkable. The staff at the Flying Pig Uptown were incredibly nice and helpful.

If you can get it for cheap, then it's all right.

Got a good deal on the Pig. It was in a decent location and I was able to get around the city with ease. It was a little grubby, tho. Simply painting the walls would be a big improvement for the place. No elevator and lots of steps. Gotta go downstairs to then go upstairs to get outside. Again, if you can get it for a cheap price and don't have too high of standards, then you'll be fine.

I stayed in the female dorm which had its own bathroom, so was very safe and secure. The bunk bed was comfortable and had a lockable drawer for keeping valuables, (was a little squeaky for leaving early in the mornings though). There are a few stairs to get in and up to rooms, so good if you are carrying light luggage or if you dont mind there are no lifts.
