Perfect Family Getaway

This property exceeded our expectations! There are two bedrooms downstairs and an open loft bedroom upstairs. The house had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub was very clean (did not smell)! We got into the hot tub every night and my children enjoyed the pool during the day. It was so private, 1/3 of the property is nothing but a view as far as the eye can see. The beds were comfortable, there were games, books to read, a fire pit (bring s'more skewers) and bbq pit. The drive to Wimberly square/town/main was quick and convenient. My daughter left her favorite stuffed animal and the cleaning people saved it and the host mailed it back to our home. Such a good experience. We will be back!!

Weekend Getaway

Enjoyed the property and location. But we could not run hot water since the smell of rotten eggs was overwhelming. We had to take cold showers.

Anniversary trip

We stayed here for our 16th anniversary and it did not disappoint! The view and the pool were perfect and it was quiet and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and the cabin was very clean and the bed was comfy. We will definitely be coming back.

Hill Country Retreat

Hill country and Wimberley at its best

The property feels very secluded even though it’s only 10 mins from town. It’s very quiet and serene. I had expected bugs since that’s usually my experience with the hill country. But not this time. There were not any mosquitoes at all. The pool was fun even though we didn’t get to use it much due to rainy weather. The hot tub was great. It’s definitely not new as the listing indicated. But it’s fully functional. The cabin itself was very clean and much roomier than expected. Be sure to buy some bottled water at HEB since hill country water tends to have an odor to it. But the view outside will make you forget everything. We enjoyed our stay very much.

A slice of paradise

Wonderful cottage on top of a hill with amazing views of the hill country. Pool and hot tub were very enjoyable. We will come stay here again in the future.

Last summer getaway

We decided to take our kids on a last little summer getaway before school started back. This place did not disappoint! The views alone were worth it. The pool was clean and cool and the house was clean and cozy and had everything we needed. The cookies at check in were a sweet pleasant surprise. The location to town was great as well . We are definitely planning another stay there in the fall.

A little piece of heaven in the hill country

Peaceful

Property was just as advertised. Comfort and peace...the pool...THE VIEW! Great location, only a few minute drive to town. Or go the other way to Dripping Springs. As stated in other review, there is a sewage smell to the water in the bathroom, but not overpowering and/or overshadowing of the rest of the property. The road to the house is a dirt/caliche road and had a lot of "potholes" created from water runoff, and the entrance to the property is steep and narrow. My truck handled it fine, but just be warned if you have a small vehicle. Don't let that deter though, great stay; we will definitely be back!!

Exactly what we wanted/needed!

My family enjoyed a relaxing long weekend in the hill country. The cabin absolutely fit the bill! Clean house, comfortable beds and most importantly gorgeous view and pool! We felt away from the busy lives we lead and enjoyed the peace and beauty. We were also close to restaurants and downtown Wimberley. We had the best of both worlds. Thank you for a wonderful respite! I would recommend this rental!

Great spot in the hill country!

So quiet and felt very private. We loved the view. The cabin was cute and the lighting and the music were nice touches on our arrival. Unfortunately I must be honest about the cleanliness being a factor. The hot tub was not able to be enjoyed for most of our stay as after our first night using it, the smell of the water (like smelly socks) was too deterring. The fridge was also not cleaned out. There were leftovers in a Tupperware container on our arrival. I want to make clear that despite the above mentioned disappointments, our overall experience was great! We did enjoy the space, the quiet getaway and it was very comfortable.

Calm property nice location

Property is quaint with all must haves, including stackable washer and dryer. Location is great, very close to the city if Wimberly and Dripping Springs. You can venture out or stay in with everything you need. Great spot for your family to enjoy pool and spa.

The pictures in the listing don't give this property justice!

While we had a couple minor issues with our stay, they absolutely did not overshadow all the amazingness of this property! If you think the picture of the pool looks beautiful... try swimming in it as the sun is going down and looking out over the hilltop of the amazing view. The drive up to the house is beautiful- this house is truly on the hilltop! The exterior is beautiful! The pool was even cool when it was so hot outside (I bring this up, because my pool in Houston is hot and its not enjoyable at all to get into). The house was immaculately clean when we arrived, there was jazz music playing and there was even a little gift of sugar cookies on the kitchen table (my daughter greatly enjoyed the cookies!). The two issues we ran into, which have been brought up to the property manager were: 1) The water smelled super strong of sulfur. I immediately contacted the property manager and they said to run the water for 20 minutes and it should resolve, but "It happens all the time in the hill country." We ran the water for 20 minutes but it almost made it worse. We have stayed at several places in the hill country over the years and have never run into this issue. My inlaws did have this issue when their well water wasn't being treated properly... not sure if that is the issue, but the smell was so strong we couldn't brush our teeth with the water. We bought gallons of water at HEB. Showers were super short too. 2) The second issue (which I just contacted the property manager and they said they would talk to the property owner about fixing) is the queen bed in the secondary bedroom is missing all but 2 of the bedrails which caused the mattress to cave in towards the center. My parents were super uncomfortable and ended up leaving our trip a night early since they were so uncomfortable and weren't sleeping. Like I said before, these two small issues did not detract from our overall stay. We loved the views, the house and especially the pool. Thank you!!!

Breath Taking

This property was so peaceful, serene, calming, a great get away. The pool was nice to cool off in, and the hot tub was perfect to warm us up after getting a chill from the breeze blowing once we got out of the pool. Overall very happy and looking forward to visiting again.

Wimberley Hill County Views

Spectacular views and night sky. The pool open pool kept the family cool when it the summer heat was well over 100 degrees. Wrap around deck that went all the way to the pool was well shaded. The cabin was clean tastefully decorated, upgraded bathroom. Kitchen was stocked enough to get us started. Close to Jacob's Well, minutes to Wimberley.

Great peaceful getaway!

My friend and I had a great time staying at this lovely getaway! We shopped during the day and came back to wind down in the pool, then spent the evenings in the hot tub. It was perfect. If I had one complaint, it would be that the pool could have been cleaner, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying it. We had a great time and will definitely keep this place in mind for our next trip to Wimberley!

Better than the pictures, not for small kids

I thought the place was better than in the pictures. Bright and inviting. There are 3 beds (1 in the loft area), but only 1 bath so that may be why it's limited to 4 people. Fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with plenty of towels, extra blankets, etc. I honestly can't think of anything they were missing. Internet directions are in the guest book. Wifi was not super fast and the TV is older so no 4K or anything. ****FYI*** May not be suitable for smaller children. You are on a steep hill which limits the walkable outside area. Also the upper deck does not have complete railing (see pics) to prevent falls. We were with our 9 month old so we didn't have to worry but not a place we'd come back to when she's older. Inside we had no major issue with moving things out of her reach and letting her crawl about. Also, there was a sulfur smell to the water.
