This hotel is great - perfect location and amazing staff! In particular, Scottie, the bartender, was absolutely fantastic! He provided great service (the bar was really busy with an event) and amazing drinks. Thomas, the valet, was also really great - super friendly and fast!

It was cold in DC with night temperatures at 22 F With light snow. I put the thermostat at 76 degrees but the room would not warm up. Although the thermostat reading of room temperature remained at 70-71 degrees, but it felt like 60 degrees. The ultra-thin comforter did not help either. I practically shivered through the first part of night.

My husband and I often stay in town overnight on weekends here and there, and we choose places local to metro and dining. This stay fit our price point, factoring in the daily resort fee. Upon checking in, I was told the room was paid for (through Orbitz) and a card was required for incidentals. Since I was not informed of the fee and there were no obvious signs to this effect, I assumed that, perhaps, it would be waived this time. I was informed that the kitchen was closed until Monday, so there would be no dining, bar, or coffee bar. Also, the rooftop pool that seems to be their claim to fame is also off-season, which includes the yoga classes. We were charged the next morning for the fee which I challenged due to most amenities being unavailable. We had a standard king room, but there was a lack of storage. A small closet, 1 nightstand had 2 drawers inside a door, the other had no storage (design was a cutout hole in the body of the table, like childrens playground tube). The table that the Tv is on had one shallow desk drawer and two false fronts (one missing a knob). This room also had an adjoining door with an insecure deadbolt - striker plate was missing which allowed view through the latch area and could probably be pushed open from the other side. Being able to bring our small dog for the night and the pricing (post holiday weekend) was good, but the resort fee remains excessive, esp off-season.

Orbitz does not include the hotel's obligatory "amenities fee" in their topline price so you need to include that when comparing prices for this hotel vs other equally good ones nearby. Also, Orbitz "price guarantee" turned out to be a sick joke. The hotel emailed me an offer for 30% discount to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Orbitz refused to match that because the Orbitz reservation was non-refundable but the hotel's offer allowed cancellation with a full refund and was therefore deemed to be not an identical offer (although obviously more favorable to the customer for the identical room).

If you're looking for location , this would be good choice as it is right at DuPont Circle. It is, however, a mixed bag. It is hard to find staff as they are often in jeans and not with nametags. In general, the design of the hotel is confounding as in the front desk is not marked if you can find it. The largest issue I had was the somewhat hidden fee of $21 a night with the designation hotel services transient fee. This fee covers services that most hotel guests would not avail themselves of such as urban fitness center, underground playground, and rooftop and Pop up yoga.

Nice and close to Dupont Circle and still walkable to most of the area. Dupont Circle subway stop is also close and will get you where you need to go as well.

PROS: 1. Nice staff 2. Nice lobby 3. Good area CONS: 1. Very small room 2. Poor maid service 3. Their restaurant is VERY expensive

Everyone is very friendly at this hotel. All the staff that passes during the day says hello. The room was very pretty. It is a nice renovation. I love the color scheme. The hotel is clean. The towels are plush and clean. The sheets were spotless. There is an in-room safe and coffee/tea maker. I arrived around noon and was able to check in. On my first night Guest Services called to check if everything was OK. I asked that the A/C be left off for my entire stay. They passed that on to housekeeping plus I left a note on the thermostat. When I checked in the room was freezing cold. I was concerned that the maid would crank it up every day thinking she was helping me. I was thrilled that the maid did not touch anything in the room. Lately I have been having issues with maid's touching my stuff and rearranging everything in the room.

Very nice hotel with various amenities such as pool, gym, playroom, etc. Room is clean and spacious. Bath is kind of small, but clean. Great location - close to all major attractions. Staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful.

Nice hotel, but the iron left black rust on my white shirt. Also, the drains were stopped up, the toilet ran, the clock batteries were dead, and the hotel encouraged immorality.

When i booked this reservation, i paid "room, taxes and fees" at the time of reservation. In the fine print, I later found that on arrival I had to pay an additional $21.10 "resort fee". This place is no resort. It amounted to a fee that was supposedly for use of the fitness room, wifi, etc. Nothing special. On checkout, i complained and did get them to remove it from my bill. I think Orbitz should make this fact much more prominent in your booking information.

All in all, very good stay. standard room is definitely standard -- fairly small, no bathtub, no view. Good mattress however.

they messed up our sleeping arrangements but they fixed it the day after other than that location great and beautiful views atleast it was in our room on the 8th floor

overall fine hotel with nice amenities. however room heating and AC system quite loud.

We went to the women's march and it was my firat visit to D.C. I have to say the staff was beyond amazing. The hotel was great, room was clean, bed was comfy, shower quiet. I couldn't have asked for a better stay! And to top it off they sent a thank you card signed by the staff and a box of truffles to thank us for our stay. Have to say it, embassy has a customer for life!

Whitney was an excellent hotel staffer made me feel wonderful during my stay, we even had a fire emergency during our stay and whitney handled the whole fire procedure perfectly and made me feel safe and welcomed thank you embassy row and whitney!! I will recommend to all my friends to stay at this hotel if they visit DC!!!!!!!

The recently renovated Embassy Row hotel offers nice accommodations in an excellent location. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Internet connection is very good.

Every once in a while you find a great deal on a hotel you have wanted to try. This nicely remodeled older hotel is in the heart of DuPont Circle, just one block from the Metro. That makes is convenient to almost anything you want to do in DC. It has a tasteful mid-century modern feel, and very comfortable beds. To find it for under $100 is a real steal.

Loved the remodel - The hotel was beautiful and modern. I love the Decour. The staff was super friendly and very helpful when we were asking about places to go in DC. We were conveniently located to the metro and we walk to many of the attractions around DC.

I had a great time the roof top pool and great! Check in was quick and the staff was kind.

Thank you for staying with us, Abby. We appreciate the detailed feedback. Your experience was certainly not up to our regular standards and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We work hard to ensure our Hotel Amenity Fee is listed clearly through all of our booking partners (usually right below the room rate), but is should have been explained at check in as well. The timing of the Food and Beverage closure (due to low occupancy over the Holiday) was unfortunate and obviously did not help. I have shared your feedback with our operations team and assure you we will work to improve. We regularly provide a better experience for our guests. We hope you will give us an opportunity to regain your trust in our service in the future. Please let us know of anything we can do to make your visit more enjoyable.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We work hard with all of our booking partners to ensure our Hotel Amenity Fee is listed at booking. You will usually see it directly under the rate when you click to book. It is important to research your booking prior to committing on a non-refundable reservation. We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced and hope you will consider returning. We would love to serve you again.

Thank you for staying with us, John. We appreciate your business and your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced or miscommunication regarding our Hotel Amenity Fee. The fee is listed directly under the rate when you book and we do not collect it in advance, as it is for services in the hotel. We appreciate your input regarding our Lobby and uniform standards. We are reviewing how to best improve in these areas. As an urban lifestyle hotel, we are different from other, more traditional properties. Our creative team is focused on continued improvement and we hope you will consider us again in the future.
