Pros: The place was clean and the owner was very responsive. Right before we arrived, for example, she let us know that the bathroom sink was clogged and that there was a work order for it. She also responded to a few messages when issues arose during our 4 day stay. It is within a few blocks to the beachfront which is super convenient.
Cons: There are some things that aren’t easily clear from the posting - the residence itself is about 8 feet from a major road going into the city and the larger bedroom is on the roadside. Traffic noise, horns and revving engines were non stop all through the night.
The listing cites as part of the amenities that there is a washer and dryer. Only later did we find out that it is a commercial, shared, paid washer and dryer. Host mentioned to us it was .25 a load but it was 1.75 to wash and 1.75 to dry each load and there wasn’t a change machine so we had to specifically track down quarters to do laundry.
Despite the work order, the bathroom sink was not unclogged during our whole stay there. There were also a bunch of other small things that were not in working order such as the light over the range, the kitchen table, a lose tub drain, a non working clock in the bedroom, and the parking lot lights were both 100% out when we got back at night, making it so you had to walk in the dark to the residence. And the neighborhood there isn’t too great.
One thing to host I’d also recommend is more towels and washcloths available in a closet or something as well as maybe a box fan or something for airflow.
Overall it wasn’t terrible but it’s also a place I most likely wouldn’t book again.
