I read the reviews before booking and wanted to give the property the benefit of doubt. All the concerns stated were valid points. The camper add on is not a huge deal though. It’s the very old porch almost seemingly about to collapse. I did clean up the porch rugs that covered these areas, while there, leave it better than you found it. The bedding was questionable at first, as there were just random pillows in the closet with pillow cases on them. Why? Thankfully we brought our own. For the most part the place was ok for being clean. Definitely needs a deep deep deep cleaning inside and out. The back porch area was not used but we checked it out and the grill was very dirty and in a sad state. And grass and weeds were high. The fake grass was a mess too with some glass laying around. There was an unusable outdoor shower in the palms. I would not stay in the place again, unless some major updates and cleaning were done. Sitting on the toilet sideways was a thing also and there was plenty of room to fix this problem. About the host , he was great to communicate with and was very responsive and kept us up to date to with Ocean Lakes rules and checkouts. I did have some concerns when booking but we got those straightened out. It’s a great area to be in. Close to the beach and all amenities. The golf cart needs new tires also. One was like a go kart slick. Our 3 nights was enough. I wish the host the best in the future. It COULD BE a great place!

When we arrived OL staff had to find the address from the ad/reservation since we were not given the physical address. The house was filthy inside and out. Dead roaches in bedroom and hallway bathroom vanity. The listing is not accurate at all. It has a small dirty smelly porch that hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. no recliner, uncomfortable squeaky beds, smells of mold and mildew. The outside shower does not work and barely accessible with the vegetation. This is a camper add on for sure. The interior doors are rough cut on the bottoms and cabinet doors will not latch. No dresser drawers anywhere to put clothes. Layout is such everyone is feet apart and have to walk through middle BR to get to bathroom and back bedroom. Bathrooms are tiny with no heat/air or exhaust. The master shower floor was cracked and gross. You have to sit on the toilet sideways for use. Skylight window in bathroom leaked so we used pots from the kitchen. Kitchen not well furnished and is tiny. Fridge door hits counter top and will not open all the way. I’ve included lots of pictures. 4 of 6 people got sick with respiratory issues. Place needs to be gutted but at minimum deep cleaning and mold a priority. The only reason this gets one star is it’s 3 blocks to the beach and our neighbors were generous enough to let us use their outdoor shower. We left a day early because we were sick and miserable.

NEAT LITTLE COTTAGE C LOSE TO THE BEACH

Overall we were happy with our stay. It was a huge plus to have a golf cart provided. The cottage itself could use some remodeling, but it was clean otherwise. For the price paid, I think we expected something a bit more put together.

Check was a nightmare

Found out during checkin each vehicle had to pay 15 a day, property was not “steps” from the beach but 3 blocks, pictures in listing weren’t accurate and I’m including photos, porch was a mess, furniture had dirt and dust, trash, ceiling fans haven’t been cleaned in forever. I had to rent a golf cart for my wife to transit to and from the beach. Should have brought additional bedding as one bed only had a light quilt and the offers a blanket and sheet. TV in back bedrooms never worked. Neighbor pressure washed his property and sprayed all over the vehicle parked in the drive even after asking him to be careful. I would not rent this property again and recommend VRBO remove it from listings. A hassle finding property and time consuming getting in and out. No personal items: toilet paper, paper towels etc, didn’t state bring your own.

Remodeled camper

When we arrived and by looking at the photos it looks bigger than it is. But it would not work for 2 families staying in one home as a party of 6. Part of it appears to be an old camper or mobile home with some walls built around it. It was clean. But the bathrooms were too small even our smallest person would have issues using the bathroom. The porch although listed as spacious is smaller than most of the others.

It was ok

Good location, big dog friendly, host responsiveIssues we had were golf cart was in service, bathrooms were really small, the ceiling fan in the bedroom was noisy and wobbly, there was no recliner as was pictured (my husband was looking forward to kicking back at night in that chair), driveway was hard to get in and out of due to work trucks parking in the street, no heat in back bathroom. We would not stay there again.

Beach Getaway

Our vacation was amazing and the property owner was very easy to get along with. We will definitely be using this vacation rental each year. We stayed two phenomenal weeks and everything we needed was right there.
