Romantic getaway

The property was exactly as it was advertised. Romantic oasis for sure. The property is extremely well decorated to cater for a couples getaway. Now, it does go a bit overboard on instructions to EVERYTHING and Rules of the property printed all over. It did give me a hint of feeling uncomfortable, like a kid in a glass store. Downfalls, the floors dividing the upstairs level are thin. You can hear everything upstairs including all footsteps and any elevated conversations. I would then assume they can also hear you upstairs.The property does not have washer or dryer. We had gym clothes that we couldn't wash.Bumber...Otherwise we still had a wonderful stay. I'm literally designing my next house inspired by this property.

Anniversary adventures

Very convenient to downtown Saint Augustine

Extremely comfortable, spacious, & well equipped. Felt like home there for the 17 days we stayed. Bed was really comfortable. Liked that the house was in a neighborhood. Only a block away and an enjoyable walk to a restaurant, fish market, produce market, & bakery. Danny, the host, was immediately responsive to any needs we had.

Lights at Saint Augustine

Beautiful place, just little disappointment the jacuzzi was broken and the sofa didn’t open properly and had stains. There was 4 people, one couple for the bedroom the other two one on the sleeper (closed) the other on the smaller sofa, but for couple is perfect.

Great Place for a Weekend Getaway!

The only reason I did not give all 5 stars was because the Jacuzzi tub did not work (unbeknownst to us beforehand). I would recommend adult bikes to be available. We recommend Schooners and the Winn Dixie just less than 1/2 mile from condo. Overall, the owners were very responsive to my concerns. We were also given some great recommendations for dining. We ate at DOS for a breakfast. We also ate at and recommend the following: Casa Reina. Coffee at the St. Augustine Co. Prohibition Kitchen. We also recommend Anastasia State Park. It’s worth $8 fee to be on the beach. While at St. Augustine Beach we ate at the Beachcomber on A Street. We will be back again!!! Hopefully stay at this condo!!! Thank you for the hospitality!!

Beware

We were unable to stay the full rental time due to a sewer problem that could not be resolved before our stay ended. We stayed 2 days before we were relocated to Mission Manor Chic apartment. Danny and Andrea Brown were great hosts until it was a concern or problem beyond just replacing a light bulb. I requested a refund of $150.81, the difference between the rental at the Romantic Downtown Retreat and the Mission Manor rental. I submitted my request over a week ago and have been ghosted. Their assistant sent a second request asking them to respond but I have not received a message from them. My request is not unreasonable. I feel their non-responsiveness shows a lack of professionalism and customer care.

A very, very good house.

A very, very good house. An excellent vacation experience. Very clean, and as inviting as can be. It is everything it seems to be. Beautiful, well equipped kitchen. Comfortable king size bed.
