Nice mountain home, incredible mountain river location. If you are a hiker, this is an amazing place to stay. You can choose your level of difficulty starting at the private trail head you can access from this property. I am 74 years old, and the walk down the upper river trail by the old school bus to Bedrock Falls was like a one mile walk in our local park. The walk upstream from Bedrock Falls to spectacular Exit Falls is more challenging, but with some prompt and easy to follow tips from Tim, I made it. However, don’t let the lazy river in front of the house fool you. One of the only true river slot canyons in the eastern USA starts about a quarter mile down stream and exits just above Exit Falls. A quick search on the internet revealed this to be a truly wild stretch of mountain river. There are a couple of access trails from the lower river trail you can get a glimpse of the canyon, but those couple of looks were enough to convince me you would probably need a group with rock climbing and canyoneering skills to safely experience this stretch of river.
Meanwhile, back at the cabin my wife and friends thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the cabin to play cards and stream movies!! Thanks Tim!
