The quality of staff service is superb, 2-thumbs up especially to Ms. Jennifer of housekeeping, she's very helpful and accommodating. Another special mention to the receptionist who assisted me to send a parcel to other state. Everyone are willing to help
"Had an incredibly disappointing experience with the Durham Fairfield Inn & Suites. We booked and confirmed a room with two queen beds (because we needed two beds). Without checking, the hotel switched our reservation to a room with a single king bed. When we arrived, at 10:45pm, we were told there were no queen rooms available. Since we needed two beds, we asked them to split us across two king rooms instead, especially since there were empty king rooms in the hotel not being used. The front desk staff would not do this without charging us almost $200 to book another room to fix their mistake. We asked to speak to the manager, but Laurie, the manager, refused to talk to us, instead communicating by sending text messages to the front desk staff. She offered no apology for the mistake that put us in a room we did not book, no additional room to rectify the mistake, and no explanation for her decision. She told us - by now at 11:00pm - that she would be in the next morning and would speak then. Instead, we slept on a three-inch thick pad that somehow passes for a "mattress" in a hotel pull-out couch. This hotel would rather let rooms sit empty overnight instead of using them to address and fix their own mistakes. After almost an hour on hold with the Marriott guest services line the next day, we finally found someone willing to change our reservation for the next night back to what we originally booked. But this stay was beyond disappointing. We had a front desk changing our reservation without our consent, then asking us to pay an extra $200 to have the beds we originally reserved. We had a rude, insulting hotel manager who refused to acknowledge her hotel's mistake, take easy steps to fix it, or offer any apology at all. We had a 45-minute delay at check-in, late at night, and then an uncomfortable night's sleep on terrible bedding. I understand that mistakes happen - I can overlook that. I can't overlook a manager unwilling to fix her mistakes, or one who is so rude to people seriously inconvenienced by her decisions. The "100% Guarantee" signs on the entry doors are clearly a joke - a number of other reviews mention the lackluster customer service here, and I sadly had to experience it for myself.
This hotel is easy. If your looking for a comfy stay that’s clean and as promised, you can’t go wrong. My kids enjoyed the atrium and pool! My hubby enjoyed the lobby bar. I enjoyed there are bell carts, close parking and complimentary coffee all day long!
Everything about my stay was A1! Jaleigh was awesome with my early check in which I did not think was possible. Very sweet girl. The food was good as well. Will be visiting again next time I'm in Raleigh!
Let me begin by saying I am a Hilton snob; I typically stay at Embassy Suites when I travel. I made a last minute trip to Southpoint and couldn't get a room at the nearby Hilton, so I reluctantly made a reservation at this property. I can honestly say that after this visit, I may be converting to the Marriott Family. From the time I checked in I could tell that customer service was the main focus of all the employees I encountered. My room was spacious & clean!!. There was breakfast waiting for you in the morning when you get up, and nice bar downstairs to grab a "night cap" before bed. You can't beat the location of the property because there are shopping and restaurants surrounding the property. I regret that I didn't give this property a chance previously, but will DEFINITELY be staying here on my next visit to the R.T.P.
I stayed here for a little weekend getaway and was totally blown away. This hotel has a gorgeous layout with their atrium and bar. The staff is amazing and very friendly, you feel like you're right at home. It's great that it's so close to shopping and restaurants in Southpoint too!
We stayed here, last minute choice, for a girl's weekend and it was the BEST choice for all of us. We normally stay at the Hilton Garden Inn across town, but we decided to try something new. I'm glad we did because this hotel was convenient to EVERYTHING!! The staff was so sweet and accommodating to the 100 questions that I had. Complimentary breakfast was so convenient on our way out. Will be back!!
We arrived very late (12:30am) and there were many people making A LOT of noise in the atrium (common area) of this hotel. We ask to be put in a room away from the large groups at the hotel. We were accommodated, however with guests not required to maintain a level of quiet during normal sleeping hours and running around in the halls and sound traveling up to even the 5th floor from the loud group in the atrium it was impossible to sleep on the very HARD bed. We had a reservation for 3 nights and left after one night. We paid with points yet our credit card was charged $60, which has not been returned! Every clerk we encounters was rude. There was yogurt at the breakfast buffet that had expired a week ago. I let the front desk clerk know this, and was told "that isn't my department!" Really? There were also several water stains on the ceiling of our room with peeling paint where this issue had not been addressed. We left this hotel and the following 2 nights stayed at DURHAM RTP COURTYARD. It was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this Courtyard. I guess management makes all the difference, and this hotel is definitely lacking in management, and the people management hires. There was no manager on duty to address complains. When ask to have the manager call us upon check out, it never occurred. It is 4 days later and still no call back! If you are a party animal this is the place for you. They won't make you be quiet even at 3am!
I am amazed at the poor service at this hotel. There is a Hyatt Place right across the street, and next time we will stay there. came back from being out for a full day and the room was not made up. Nothing could be done since housekeeping leaves at 3.(we left the hotel at 10 am) We requested towels and waited for them to be delivered. Didn’t happen, we had to go down and ask for towels at the front desk.We are part of a group having 6 rooms here, one handicap. Rooms were not provided as requested (requiring handicap shower). We are Marriott Platinum and have never seen such poor service before. Stay away!!!
I stayed there and encountered the rudest service with the front desk agent who was very prejudice... Just because two black people come into the hotel diesn't mean that they are together. Then when the manager came out she acted as if she did not want to be there which explains why it was acceptable for the agent to be rude. The team needs a lesson in service.
