Flamingo Vallarta Hotel & Marina

The pool and view of the marina is very nice. The only downside I could find is the swamp cool airconditioning.

The hotel was absolutely run down. Room was very old and felt like a cheap motel. The bed and pillows are as hard as rocks! My husband and I got cramps in out backs and neck the entire trip. The first day we came they put us next to a room undergoing renovation at 9-10 am we woke up to the sound of hammering and drilling etc. I just don't understand why they would put guests in a room next to a room undergoing renovations. And there rooms are to at all sound proof we heard every conversation outside our room. Every time the cleaning people came around we heard her cleaning and talking to other workers. And one guy we even heard farted!!!!! So gross. The staff is nice though and very friendly. The most helpful was Leonard he helped tell us where to go and what places are best and spoke good English. All in all this place is nothing what was advertised on Orbitz or there actuall website.

The only thing we did not like about this hotel is we could not get the maids to lock the room after they serviced it. And I complained about this almost every day we stayed. Other than that the rooms were clean and pleasant. We never ate at any of the buffet meals at the hotel so cannot comment. We heard that the coffee is not very good at the restaurant so we got coffee at a convenience store each day.

the staff is amazing, breakfast was good, the barman Giovani is very nice, the hotel is well located beside the marina, a lot of restaurants and bars close by, about $ 5 by taxi to go to the malecon,

I have stayed here 4 other times, this was no different really good for the price. Great location grounds and pool great. From the minute you arrive you feel at home. The rooms are clean and nice, the view of the harbor is awesome. Lots of great food places within walking distance. The bartenders over the top great drinks and smiles. If u want a place that u feel very comfortable this is it. Not to far from downtown. Thanks Flamingo I will be back again. Doug (ut)

This year this place was loud with music and partiers. They added loud music (which was going about 8 am to 9 pm) glad I brought earplugs and inclusive offers which changed my favorite place into one I will not return to. The staff is nice and polite, but the restaurant is very, very slow. And in the morning they ran out of coffee one morning. Not the way I like to start my day. I really wished they had a coffee maker in the room. They also charge for ice because they do not have any ice machines. I just wanted ice because I came from the dentist and had swelling. Got a new crown because it is less expensive in Mexico. I had trouble getting wifi anywhere in the hotel the first two days, then was able to get it in my room. The new remodeled items, ie: beds, are still too hard for me to be comfortable, toilets still don't have seats that fit properly, (I literally slipped in due to seat placement and bad sizing. I am not big, size 8.) They also now make you wear a plastic bracelet which I hate. I took mine off and then was hassled about it. But most of the staff is wonderful!!! if you can deal with the rest of what I mentioned.

nice hotel however they cutt down a palm tree with a chain saw at 1030 at night!

Stayed here for 1 night before and 2 nights after my nearby timeshare. This hotel is under long term renovation. My first room was terrible and ripe for Hotel Impossible. I later learned the renovation had not yet reached the fourth floor. My return later in the week was a new room on the first floor, MUCH better. Renovated rooms have new air conditioners and tv but no refrigerator or clock radio. Free wi-fi works well.

The hotel is in a very pretty area near the marina. However, there is no shuttle to the beach (unless you want to be stranded at a resort and spend twenty dollars per person at the resort). We were told that there is a beach "about a mile away," but our taxi driver refused to take us there claiming, "there is no beach there!" Book your excursions BEFORE you travel and not at the hotel as they are very limited in helping tourists find things to do. If you ask the hotel staff for suggestions as to where to go, you will to be told to get on a bus and spend EVERY day at the Malecon boardwalk, which is beautiful but not somewhere you want to spend every day of your vacation. However, we really enjoyed The Eden: Site of the Predator day trip and would recommend that you take this tour for a fun, and easy, way to see the local sights. The rooms are clean, and well appointed with very good views of the marina. The food and service is excellent, and the staff at the hotel and around the pool could not be more accommodating or friendlier. We recommend that you book at hotel closer to the center of town, where you can more easily get around and enjoy the many local attractions.

We stay at Flamingo 3 or 4 times every year for 2 or 3 days. Upon arrival to PV and on return trip to Canada; as we winter in Punta PERULA which is 2 hours south of PV. We also will stay at the Flamingo Hotel for pace changes short term vacation during our stay in PERULA. We also recommend in to our family, friends and clients. Our stay has always turned out to be a good experience. LL & DD PS. For first time users, the Hotel is a bit difficult to find, and describing how to get there is not an easy thing to do. You might consider directional signs at some street corners.

This hotel could use lots of renovations. It's tired looking. We always book at this hotel for a night or 2 before we fly out as its close to the airport. I was there on 3different occasions in February and we had to wait way past 3pm to get our room. They have one woman doing all the cleaning and she works like a horse. Felt so bad for her. We always left her a good tip daily (Named Oli). There's a staff at the front desk named Yolanda Who is very arrogant. We always try to speak to Kristi who is always so helpful.

I choose this hotel for its proximity to the marina and downtown. The beds are not comfortable. Air conditioning in some units is inadequate. I asked the front desk if I could stay and extra night and the desk person told me yes. The next day at 2 they told me to vacate the room as it was rented. I had to leave immediately. I left my phone charger in the room and when I went back to get it 2 hours later no one knew where it was. The restaurant is bad. The bar is good. The pool is nice. The place is quite old.

The staff there were really friendly and very informative. There is AC in the room and there's also hot shower. The furniture, and couch should be updated. The couch was really hard, it was as if I was sitting on a piece of board. The bed was comfortable but on the morning before I checked out, I found a lizard by my pillow. I can hear everything, my neighbors watching TV and I can hear them closing their door as they leave their room. I thought 6AM was early and an appropriate time for me to wake up and get ready for my day before going snorkeling but I woke up before 6AM because my neighbor was awake. There is also a closet and a safe box inside the closet. The location was good, if you're getting the zip lining/canopy activity, the bus picks you up from down the street. In the back of the hotel, the pool is shallow and it's got an attached pool that is shallow enough for kids, even toddlers to crawl around in. As you go past the pool and walk along the boating docks, there are many other restaurants and adventure agents. If you're going to the Terminal Maritima, it's usually about 60 peso for a taxi ride. The hotel staff can call a taxi upon request.

We stay here whenever we fly into or out of Puerto Vallarta. It's close to the airport, has a good breakfast. Our favorite thing is to walk around the marina and have dinner at one of the many restaurants . It's always a relaxing evening for us. The rooms are fine. Love how they all look over the marina.

Wonderful place. We were very happy here. Food was great service was even better. Would recommend this to all of our friends and family.

Good hotel when coming or leaving PV. Good location, nice staff. Hotel needs upgrades in many areas and it appears they are working on that. Resturant is very nice and reasonably priced.

The hotel is close to everything. So if you don't want to sped a lot of money and stay in something just ok this is the place.

the price was right, but the inside need some update, chip paint on furniture, rusted pipes. poor shower - heads, bedding sheets as thin as toilet paper, a/c did not work, overhead fan did not work, floor tile was chiooed, pool water was cloudy, and no frig in room

My wife, sister and I spent a very enjoyable night at the Vallarta Flamingo. We found the staff very helpful. The room was very quiet considering its closeness to the Marina . A coffee maker in the room would have made it perfect. We will stay there again on our next visit.

I had a very good experiencee at Flamingo. The staff was very accommodating and the food was very good in the restaurant. The gentlemen working in the restaurant went out of their way for my every whim. I highly recommend this hotel as a lovely way to experience Marina and not spend an arm and a leg.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am surprised however that you mention the absence of a shuttle to the beach because we do offer this service free with our hotel van. hopefully you can use the service next time.
